I've been considering taking my RV to the conference in Dallas. Leaving Pennsylvania direct to Dallas by way of Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas or other in line states. Plan would be to drive through without stops except to pick up or discharge. Trip expected to take 27 hrs. Expenses would be shared on boarding and accommodations will be in the 30' RV for the time of the conference. Estimated share would be $150 if we have 4 and less if 6 (the tight sleeping capacity which isn't recommended). Need mature individuals willing to go without booze or smoke while in my RV with driver's licenses to share straight highway driving. Trip share does not include meals nor conference registration. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Will accept applications from Bish or Nits if you take a bath first.

I did something like this for the WB Con last year, going from MN to NC nonstop. It was a blast. :)

I flew in the system today. I cannot offer you any guarantees but the system IS working.
Delays, yes. Cancellations, yes. The crews and aircraft are still a bit scattered but even now.. on basically "day one" of the resumed sked, things are coming together.
I can tell you security is as good as I have ever seen it, for what that is worth.
Flight crews are adjusting to the new situation as well.
I flew the system. I felt safe.
Each must decide.

I've always wished we had more trians, by that I mean bullet trains across country.
Maybe it is time to sink some serious money into that sort of thing, considering also that the US airtraffic control system is overworked as it is and needs updating.

My only worry is that my flight will be canceled. It seems far enough out yet tho', that it hopefully won't be a problem.

was checking Amtrack ( i was bored)
in the short turm most coach seats are sold out, sleepers still avable, amtrack has added more units and new trains, cheap too, mid fla to pa coach $140 one way, down side is it's a long trip compaired to flying but you can walk around and you see more from ground lvl than 30.000 ft

Sounds very tempting, Only problem is I smoke like a chimney, I couldn't go 27 hours without a smoke , let alone 27 minutes.

P.S. I live in PA also.

HMmmmmmm, the more i think about this the more I am tempted.....
27 hours No smokes........
I may be able to do this, If you keep all sharp objects out of my reach after the first hour.
I drive a GMC Ventura conversion van so I am used to driving big heavy bulky vechiles.
My hobbies are, AH, Flight syms, Classic cars.
My likes... OOPPPS wrong BBs.
Well anyways, Let me talk it over with the other half and Post back.
Whats the Date leaving and approx return date?

Nuttz;
Key is finding at least 4 compatible morons to do this. By the way, I also smoke but my better half would kill me if I smoked up the RV. My solution is a $59.00 box of Industrial Strength Nicorette (4mg) and massive inhaling at rest stops. I would think that if driving through the idea would be to arrive at con Fri morning and leave sunday mid-day.

Wow, as luck would have it, I will be in your area.
I would love to help your travel costs. I do drink though, and usually morning eggs mixed with Old Milwaukee can make a bit of gas, but nothing to worry about.
Plus I have the full Slayer and Pantera CD catalog as well so we can jam the whole 27 hours man!
I don't smoke cigs, but good cigars, i hope that won't be a problem.
Email me at your earliest convienence, ty.
