im sorry to say this but having played aches high for a long time now i feel i owe you one but on the other hand we pay you a subsciption so i feel i can have a say..
Well i cant belive the quality of service latley.. there ive said it..
not only have people been leaving in droves . but the server crashes,we're locked out of the game . game play is becomeing arcade (with flashing icons and such) and now ive spent 2 hours nearly trying to play special event which crashed twice..
please bring back 1.08 untill you have sorted out the bugs please other companys let beta testers play free..
Big tip ditch voice till it works or at least let people have the choice to dump the thing..

Becoming like arcade because of flashing icons? In many respects, the MA has already been an arcade environment and people keep wanting more of it. Flashing icons don't really bother me one way or the other. I am here for the flying and don't really worry about strat or anything else added to make playing strat easier.
Generally, I am happiest just flying HtH in a good room. However I am a paying subscriber so I can help fund further developement and enjoy the CT.
The server problem is being solved as fast as possible.
As for other companies allowing beta for free, WB3 is in paid production and it is very much still an ongoing beta. AH allows you to play everything but arenas for free. It only takes AH a few days to level out the bugs from a new release, I am willing to put up with that in order to help develop the game further.
I don't see people leaving in droves... I see people flocking to the best online flight sim.

I'm sure the reason they upped the limit in main to 550 was because of the sudden dropoff in usage.

Nothing arcade about flashing icons... they represent some guy who is stationed at that base letting his fellow countrymen know the base is under attack. No a player shouldn't be doing that. We can't be expected to sit in all bases waiting to get on the radio and then tell people the base is under attack.
In reality these bases wouldn't be deserted because a pilot isn't there... I mean some Texan has to sweep the floors....

The rest of 1.09... I've seen worse releases of AH. They get solved VERY fast (a patch within 2 days already!+)
I like 1.09 so far.
Now I just hope HTC can give us monthly vehicle updates because I won't pay to wait 6 months for the next update, i get bored long before then.

ON AH Voice, I have to agree...Kill it PLEASE!
If I'm anywhere near a furball, I take system hits with EVERY voice reception.
The quality of sound SUCKS! Half the time, I can not understand the guys I have been talking to clearly on Roger Wilco for the past 3 years.
As to the Server SNAFU.
DAMNIT, I started complaining about this problem when HTC left Applink. There was a point when I noticed minor improvements, that made it possible for me to adjust, but since 1.09 hit, I can't survive a fight because of the massive warps!
This is just plain bad business.
If the ISP can't handle it, then change to an ISP that can.
If there is no ISP that can, then the limits need to be lowered.
I mean, what the hell is the use in having a 550 limit when the thing crashes with 450 people in it.

lol i been gone for over 2 months and stayed subscribed the whole time. when 1.09 came out I couldnt stand it any longer and bought an isp and a phone line modem and got online immediately and played the game for 8 hours straight.
yeah HTC watch out or i will leave and go to the betty ford clinic for ahaholics anonymous!
HTC's service is best in the world
of any company I've ever seen not just online ones.
there just is not a comparison with them and anyone else.
as for the server, skuzzy is gonna be hosting the MA as soon as he gets the hardware for it so I dont mind the less than awsome conx knowing a solution is being worked on.

My connections have been great with no problems with AHVoice. Im not saying ther are no problems it is just that I am not experiencing any.

The sky is blue, the grass is green, water is wet, new versions have bugs in them that cause crashes. Get over it, it will be fixed.

AHVoice - brings the "community together." Great feature, buggy for some.
Dumps - God yes and lots of them... Im almost used to them now.
Customer Service - No personal experience, but everything Ive heard points to first rate... besides, its better than WB... although Im not sure you can even call that service.
Buggy release - Ever experience a non-buggy release? Why do you think 1.08 had patch after patch after patch...

From what I've seen online the majority of players are using AHVoice with no problems at all, maybe you have a hardware issue?
The connections have been a little troublesome recently there is no denying that but its a temporary measure while Skuzzy upgrades his connections as he and Hitech have mentioned before, its out of their hands while the telecoms people fart arse about.
I'm not a big fan of the flashing icons either but I would'nt go as far as saying take them out, they do have a purpose but maybe we could have a msg in the buffer like 'Field X Under Attack!' etc.
I was dissapointed by the lack of features for bombers, I had hoped for an overhaul in the way bombs are delivered but on the whole this was a great release.

PLEASE let me toggle off the flashing icons and range voice. I'd like to be able to do away with the text bar completely also while your at it. If I want to chat I'll fire up ICQ.

There should be an option to kill AHVoice if you don't want to use it. Even if you turn the sliders down whem you don't want to listen to it, AHVoice still mutes the engine sounds, etc. when somebody keys the mic.

bowser it doesn't mute any sounds if you slide the EFFECTS slider in Voice setup to full right

Please remember HA is MMP Game from a business objective you have to make the game so that many cross plateforms of people will enjoy and be drawn it....it's a business. If the learning curve is to hard poeple simply will not pay to play.
I would say if you want realism (not to be smart)...the miltary is always a opition.

Thanks HTC. 1.09 adds some great things.
AH voice is very nicely integrated and vey useful. Maybe there is a system resources hit, but with a reasonably up to date system it is transparent. (I have an Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53Ghz) with 512Mb PC2100DDR and a GeForce2 GTS 32Mb, what systems are those taking hits from AH voice running on?)
The Spit I is great fun, the early war birds have a completely diferent feel to them. I can tell that the fans of Luftwaffe aircraft are thrilled to have the Bf110G-2.

So far, I'm really liking 1.09 except for AHVoice. If it's the cause of the frame rate hits that some of us are experiencing, I would like to see it killed (or at least made an optional feature).

If you whiners act like this about a stupid game, I would hate to be anywhere near ya when life dealt you a serious blow.
Grow up! You're a consumer, make a choice. I'm sure WB's needs the subscribers or perhaps IL2.

This is probably what I'll be doing when my 6 month subscription is up. The MA has turned in to a pigpile (it always was a gangbang just worse now) since I first signed up last year. Last month I played 14 hours total and so far this camp I think I may have played 2 hours.

And if you dont like it the way it is - well nobody says that you cant code your own flight sim which will suit to all your needs and likings.

One of the best things about HTC is that you'll never hear anyone of them say that. I remember another group that would. I believe they have a whopping 80 people in the arena during prime-time these days.

I laugh when i hear someone using the term Pigpile and Gangbangers. Its all about SA people. If you get alt and you see someone higher, turn around, get more alt, or look around, determine the plane and consider its weaknesses. Also alot of these people who cry gangbanger just dove on a low plane without looking to see the 4 or 5 nme flying wing with that plane. Jeez people you cant kill all of em by yourself, fly with friendlies, go to where friendlies are taking off, Dont take off vulched fields, etc. All these things you should have learned from prior games like AW or WB. SA SA SA.. use it. and you will enjoy the game for what it is. At least i do, and i still dive down on those 5 planes by myself sometimes.. i die, but its fun.

I was up til 3:00AM Saturday morning setting up the SEA for the Invasion Sicily scenario, then was back online at 11:00 all ready to go. I spent the better part of the last month preparing for it, so I was as disappointed as anyone else when the server crashed shortly after the frame started. HiTech called me after this and told me that he was on it, and would investigate until he found the reason why.
He's a man of his word, and I know he'll have if fixed ASAP, if it isnt already fixed. So I logged into the MA and had some fun anyway.
This is a great game made by a unique company. Some of you guys just don't understand how good we really have it. Honestly, I can tell from the passion in some of your posts that you have never experienced "real" trauma in your lives if you get this worked up about a few problems in a game.

I never was too fond of the "if you don't like it, leave" cliche'... fact is, many disgruntled customers were once "gruntled", and they probably have legitimate reasons to complain. OTOH, to do so in a disrespectful manner doesn't help, either.
I think it is fair to say some people are seeing probs since release (though I myself have not). I think it is fair to say they are frustrated at not being able to enjoy their fix. A little venting won't hurt. Suggestions to modify the way the new features work won't hurt a bit, either. No reason to ask anyone to leave.

Ive been playing this damn game sence beta. I have yet to see a release with out bugs, but ill be damned THAY KEEP FIXING THE BUGS!!!! future notes thay will fix the bugs, thay always do. And for customer service thay dont charge me enough money, for as much HELP as I get, just ask matt. (hes already afraid to answer phone becouse he know its Sally of the FDBs I know ht, pyro yankee, ronnie, natedog, and superfly personally (not matt yet couse he is abooter, or shall I say the F.N.G.) Thay are committed to having the BEST game on the net, and nothing less.
Sometimes you have to deal with problems, or even wait a bit for them to be fixed. rest assured thay will be fix. So strap in throttle up, gear up, flaps up and shut up! and enjoy the ride.
