I was surfing, and I ran across this below. This is for real, so when you screw your beautiful P-51 into the ground, thank your lucky stars, you don't have to pay for it, and really pay for it like some of these folks did.

The first on on that list is a kicker though. Or rather, a pisser!
Reportedly, while in flight approximately 10 miles east of Lincoln County Regional Airport, the airplane's engine overheated and ran roughly. The pilot and passenger bailed out of the airplane.

Guy flying an almost priceless plane he knows has a coolant leak???
WTF? he needs to be beaten!
You would think you would be reverent of such awesome and expensive machines but I guess if your rich and you break you 500,000$ toy its no big deal?

It said one of the pilots from Michigan (which killed 2 pilots) did a roll at an alt of 50-200. 2 planes diped below and smashed into dunes by the water.....DOH!

There was no pressure like hey the field is going to be raided? What kind of moron flies a plane that has cooling problems?
Or does stunts to impress cows?
every time one of these jerk offs kill one of these planes, it's history destroyed!
I am not criticizing the pilots who had problems that they couldn't control. Just he one who did stupid things, some even paid for it with there lives.
This just infuriates me!

Don't get this mixed up with "The Flying Doctors"....they cool.
When I was taking my flying lessons(a long time ago, I might add), the most beautiful single engine plane on the ramp was a Beech Bonanza 35 or 36. It was the cadillac of it's time. Now, most ordinary working people couldn't afford this high performance complex airplane. It was fast and the pinnacle of plane ownership for a long time. But, it could bite you. It was a favorite of the professional upper middle class, who bought one of these beauties before taking any flying lessons(hey neighbor look what I have), and didn't live long enough to get the rating. Big money, big egos, but they didn't want to take the time to learn how to stay alive in a complex high performance airplane, and usually screwed it into the ground because of lack of flying skills. Most wrote it off on their taxes as part of transportation(at the time), and found themselves in the clouds, way over their heads, with their wife and kids aboard. The results were they got their names in the paper, and gave flying a bad name.
