Title: Please lower the perk on the 38 in the CT
Post by: BigCrate on March 17, 2002, 07:23:26 PM
Please lower the perk on the 38... The 38 is me babv :) and some days i suck and some days i'm ok.. Today I sucked and lost all the perk points i earned yesterday. And I couldn't fly the 38. And had to fly the 51b its a good plane but 4 .50s just doesn't cut it vs the big gunned LW planes. When you have a shot and miss or get a good burst in and nothing happens. And then his buddies come in and your dead. I don't think if yall lower the cost of the 38 to zero it will unbalance the CT.. I'm trying to fly in the CT more than the MA but I'm not gonna fly in the much if I can't fly my 38..

BigCrate,

It costs a whopping 1 perk point.

Grab a Mosquito Mk VI (it's kinda P-38 like and has an OBJ of 25) and go straff/bomb/rocket stuff.  You'll easily score a perk point.

Then you're back in your 38.

Mc202, ENY 50 vs  Mosquito, ENY 25. For example in MA setup (same thing goes for CT).

The mosquito attacks the 202, the 202 turns the fight and get above the mosquito, the 202 gets a long tickeling burst into the mossie and the mossie dies.

Split the killers ENY with the Killed ENY. In this case 50/25 = 2.
So the 202 gets 2 perks, land the sortie, and the perks earnt during the sortie will bemultiplied with 1.25, that'll give the 202 2.5 perks after landing.

If mossie would have killed the 202, it would have been 25/50 = 0.5, that's only 1/4 of what the 202 gets for killing the mossie.

Thanks Wilbus!! The perks system seems kinda dumb to me. But it keeps a but load of 262s outta sky.

If you only want to fly Allied planes, take up a Spit I or Hurri I.  They have very high ENYs for massive perkie gaining.  1 or 2 kills on Saturday night, and I had enough for a P-51D.  :)  That I promptly lost I might add.  ;)

Pleasure :)

Pretty good system to limit planes, some planes that are limted in MA shouldn't be though, atleast not IMO.

It's not perfect, but I think it limits the late war planes enough, without making them impossible for the newbie to fly. It's more or less a system to keep the late war planes from running wild, yet they are attainable (mostly) in just 2-3 good sorties, or 1-2 good sorties in the right plane.

Wilbus,

Differences:

Mossie has an OBJ of 25 to the C.202's OBJ of 10.  With that you can go bomb/rocket/straff some buildings/guns and get 2.5 as many perk points for killing those as the C.202 would have, if it could kill them.

It also doesn't require you to switch sides (in the P-38 context), nor find an aircraft that your C.202 can beat and is alone so your kill won't be stolen from you.

Any decent Mossie pilot will beat a C.202.

Just took it as an example to explain ENY Karnak, didn't make a statement that the mossie pilot was worse then the 202 pilot.

That the mossie has got a high OBJ is a bit weird to me though, the 202 should have 50 there aswell.
