Going too far or just avoiding the slippery slope?
Its a short article (http://www.thechamplainchannel.com/news/1303068/detail.html) so take a look.

Going too far. It's not like she has a license plate that says, "IH8NGRS" on it.
-
Going too far. Ohio recently banned people from using "H8" on plates which I understand (like "IH8Fords", "IH8U"), but this goes too far. There was a woman two years ago in Ohio who went to court to fight to get "Hooker" on her plate. I think she won because her last name really was Hooker and the courts ruled that it wasn't offensive.
-
So, I guess "FAW Q" is right out in Ohio?
-
Well, it seems like it went too far on the surface. There may be some merit to this rule though.
Who is the arbiter of which ethnic description is ok and which is not? Do we want to set up another government office specifically to determin this? It is possible to have a word that is not demeaning to some, but very demeaning to others of the same ethnic group.
How about this one?
Polock (sp?)

They just had a DMV decision in Florida revoking a man's vanity license plate of 16 years because it said "athiest".
-
Florida is in the south, right?
-
He should have offered to change it to "A Theist" then see what they say.:D

These are pretty funny - from the Smoking Gun:
New York (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/nydmvb1.shtml)
Florida (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/flatags1.shtml)
Wisconsin (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/wiscplates1.shtml)
Washington (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/washplates1.shtml) - these are some of the best. CNLNGS apparently means 'Chemical/Nuclear Lungs'. Who'd've thunk it. ;)
-
In New York... WAFFNSS. What does this mean?
-
If you are serious...
Waffen SS - the 'army' branch of the SS.
-
or
White
Anglo Saxon
Female
Fornicator
Never
Shaves or
Swallows
just a guess:)
-
or...
We

Flatuate
Fluidly

Yeah, Mister Fish, that's for sure. I heard it last night on a replay of Dr. Dean Edell's radio show. The gentleman whose license plate was revoked related how people flipped him off, threw stuff at him and keyed his car in parking lots. Talk about good Christian behavior, huh?
