British pet name for the Typhoon, or to quote one RAF pilot,
"my lovely Tiffy".

My regards,

The British were in the habit of using shortened, or slang terms for their aircraft.  We in the flight sim community continue to use those terms.

Aircraft : RAF Slang

Spitfire : Spit
Hurricane : Hurri
Typhoon : Tiffie
Lancaster : Lanc
Mosquito : Mossie
Mosquito FB.XVIII : Tse tse
Wellington : Wimpey
Halifax : Halibag
Swordfish : Stringbag
