Title: Throws down the Gauntlet
Post by: Ghosth on November 01, 2001, 01:01:00 PM
Come on you old AH sticks & yes you new AW types too.

Climb down out of your favorite ride & see if you can handle the "Aces Challenge"

Start at the top of the list with the A6m5a, get 5 kills & you move on to the next plane.
Trick is to do it without dieing. Die & you start again with that plane.

Maybe some of you super sticks could run the whole line without EVER dieing. Dunno, I'm not that good. But, it is is fun to try, gets people flying differnt planes. Come on Give it a shot, I DARE ya!

Don't like my rules, fine, make your own.
Its not like anyone cares about keeping score. It's about climbing into a plane you DON'T know and giving it your best shot.

Fatty and Mason have gone thru the planeset trying to get 1 kill in each before moving on.

It damn hard to get a kill in a goon but they have done it.......

OK I'm gonna go for it.  Since it's a new tour I'm going to try to put 5-0 up on the stat sheet for each type.  I assume it's OK to stick to fighters only?

Umm, Ghosth, second on the list is the Ar234.  I'm gonna have a hell of a time getting an air-to-air kill in that.

 :D

so get 5 kills in first plane on list...

then move to next plane?

I used to do that quite a bit. it was always very fun. and it helps to really get a feel for what all the aircraft in ah can really do.

yer welcome!   :)

btw, you only have 12 kills according to the score sheet.  FWs already, huh?   ;)

also, I'm not participating because I don't want to fly Zeros all tour.  There's no way I can kill 5 in a row before getting shot down.   :o

Is the goal to fly an aicraft type until a sum total of five kills has been racked up withouth incuring death (kind of easy...get a kill, land...) or is it that you can only move to a new aircraft after becoming an Ace (5 kills)in one single flight?

"its up to you" as ghosth said.

My rules that i'm playing the challenge by are:

start at the end of the list and go forwards flying every fighter.

fly individual fighter until 5 kills are made in that fighter then move to the next fighter.

deaths are not important, just 5 kills each fighter.

Basically the challenge rules I am using are designed only to experience every different aircraft for about 1-2 sorties before moving to the nex aircraft.

its quite fun and challenging.

"its quite fun and challenging."

It sounds like it would be which is why I'm interested in dopign this myself. I just wanted to see if I had it 'right' so that I played by the same basic rules and understanding that most are.

Like Cit says, you can fly it any way you like. Top to bottom or vice versa, count deaths, sorties, or not, its all up to you.

The challenge is to climb OUT of your ussual bird & into something different. Get 5 kills in it & move on to another. Want to make it tougher? Then try for 5 kills without dieing.

Get stuck in a plane? Skip it & come back to it later.
