Title: Ki-67
Post by: Dennis on March 20, 2002, 12:15:42 AM
Just curious.  Anyone know if this beast was really so fast and maneuverable?
Judging from the charts in the help file, you'd think a fighter (seafire) at wep would be able to catch one on the deck.  Couldn't close on it.  Add to that the effective range of 1.7K+ for the tailguns, and well, you feel my pain.

I gather this must have been a rather uber piece of hardware in WWII.
Any additional info available on it besides what's in the help file?  Is Mitsu out there?  Judging from what he's posted elsewhere, perhaps he could chime in.

Enquiring minds want to know.

Ki-67 was fast.

It was manuverable enough for the Japanese to start developing a fighter version.  It was said to loop easily.

Now, its bomb load leaves a bit to be desired.

My question about Ki67 is: why it is a bomber/attack while Ju88 (same historical role) is only a bomber??

Lets not forget the Ju88 Night Figther. With Ju88G-1 with 4x20mm in front and a top speed of 573 Km/t (Kilometer an Hour) and 2x20mm "Schrage Musik", I would fly a Ju88 Night Figther in AH with great pleasure :)

And as for your question Mandoble... GOOD QUESTION:confused:

Yes the Ki67 was that fast and manueverable.

Reportedly it was quite capable of loops and rolls.

Like Karnak said, it doesn't have a huge bomb load, but it makes a very nice quick strike bomber.

All the stuff I have on it says the same it was fast and manuaverable, I do beleave it is the fastest bomber in the game after the Ar 234 of course.

I like the abaility to do atack sorties in it since it has a very light bomb load this is not going to diestabilise anything, heck it can't even kill a airplane hanger, a P 38 can do that, if the JU 88 had an attack button it would upset the bomber/atack ballence scoring wise it has as big a bomb load as a B 17 does.
