Title: Few Newbie Questions
Post by: Il2 on March 21, 2002, 05:45:11 AM
Hi, I am new to Aces High and had a few questions:

1) On the plane, n1k2-J, i see it had 4 20mm guns. How do i enable heat seeking warheads on the bullets of the nik2-J's 20mm's. It is probally very simple, and you just have to press a key or somthing.

2) I see some planes have rockets. How do i make the rockets heat seeking? How do i make the rockets stealth?

3) On RGAF (Royal German Air Force) planes, i see some of them have bombs. How do i make these bombs lazer guided? I am having trobule aiming them

If you hang around Jg52 long enough, they will whine enough to brainwash you into thinking that all these things are capable by the absurdly potent allied rides (and the n1k2)

The Niki's heat seeking bullets are specialy modified to target the Fw 190. Against this plane, the bullets (if fired under the correct conditions) will go straight to the source of heat and produce an oil leak from the engine.

2) I see some planes have rockets. How do i make the rockets heat seeking? How do i make the rockets stealth?

The heat sensor on the rockets is activated by firing at ranges of under 50 yards. At this range, you will find them extremely stealthy, they'll never see them comming.

3) On RGAF (Royal German Air Force) planes, i see some of them have bombs. How do i make these bombs lazer guided? I am having trobule aiming them

There are no First world war aircraft modlled in this sim. You must be thinking of the Macchi. This Aircraft does not in fact carry bombs, explaining your lack of success in this endevour.

1) To enable heat-seaking bullets, press Alt-F4
2) To make the rockets heat-seaking, press Control-Alt-Del, press it again to make them stealth
3) To enable laser guidance, push Esc and click on the Tower button

The best advice I could possibly give any newbie is that for a really good troll, all you have to do is mention changing ther perk values of the Ta-152, La-7, Niki, or Chog. Some of us just can't resist the bait.

Ahhh the whine of a Mac user who wants to play in the blue-er skies and can't, and now regrets the decision to purchase an Imac because it was so "cute".  :D

Il2 that was a troll from the get go and ya know it.
Heat seeking bullets and rockets, yeah right.

Yer either a total handsomehunk looking to stir up something smelly, or your a disgruntled mac user.

I think you came to the wrong game.  Obviously you are a man who needs realism in his game play.  I think you're passion for realism would be better served at Fighter Ace 3.0.  FA3 blows all others away!!!

ROFL, low scores on the troll-o-meter (however, trying to leverage "comunity standards" between WB and AH is worth a FEW points), but super high marks on comedic display. Not enough to save the overall performance however, and I give it an overall score of 2.5/6

warbirds is only percieved as better because there are so few players there.
if they ever had a huge increase (like AH) you'd see a huge change.

Not because there are fewer good people, just because there are more people period.  More people, greater chance for a**holes.

I don't understand why you're so sensitive.. I haven't seen a 'mean' post in this thread yet.  Humor yes, but mean.. no.

good luck with whichever sim you end up with.

if it's WB, say goodbye to your cash, tech support, and progress in reasonable time.  However, one can live in their own little world there.. key word.. little.
