Title: HT, Killshooter?
Post by: whels on July 30, 2001, 07:06:00 PM
HT,

with killshooter as it is, 99% of the time
it punishes the wrong pilot. like today
i was 400 off a 190s 6, shooting it, when suddenly i take damage and die, as i take the damage a friendly plane finishs passing through my plane to get to the 190. wasnt my fualt a friendly decided to go through me as iwas firing, but i die because of it. have also dies a few times from guys cutting across infront of u while firing. people have no qualms about doing it cause it wont damage thier plane only the 1 shooting.

any way we try out or change to say a AW style PGN system. if u kill say 5 friendly
planes/vehicles/boats within a 24 hour period
either u cant get ammo or bombs for 24 hours, but could goon, or 5 kills in 24hours
no ammo/bombs in the country ur did it in but  u could change to another country to keep playing, would be good option incase u
drop a egg by accident on a spawn point with a mission starting hehe.

maybe it could cost u (alot) perk points, if no points available then u get no ammo/bombs as above.

just tired of getting ded because the other pilot has no reason no to cut u off, fly through u,..... ect

CC.. I feel your pain here.  I have probably cut in front of folks that are firing without realizing it.  However, as soon as I see tracers coming past me I generally break off so I don't inadvertantly kill someone.

Same goes for if someone cuts me off.. I stop shooting if I can, and break off.

Yeah, its a pain alright.  The problem with PNG like AW had is it allows being a jerk to a limited degree.  Imagine if you will, you take off in your Tempest only to be shot down by a friendly...that would go over real well.

Its not perfect, but in ballance, its better than most solutions.  My only preference would be that it have a little more "give" to it.  Maybe the 1st 2 seconds only cause fuel leaks and weapon damage.

Maybe reduce it to 35% damage to yourself.

Be more than enough to warn you, and not enough to kill you.

Interesting, this is the first I've heard of this.  I didn't know you could die etc... if you shot another teamates plane.  is this in the help section?  I agree with the others though, other things could be done.
