This beauty.

Bring the Yak-3 to AH!
-
No way, there would be no end to the whines coming from the US-, luft- and britwobbles :D
Btw, what's the story of the plane in the pic? Looks like it reads somethingsomething of California in the front.
-
no there wouldnt yaks limited ammo load keep them rare.
A yak3 is a bad bellybutton no doudt but you wont see as many of them as la7s.
I would hope for some early vvs but any new vvs plane would be great.
-
Sage Yakovlev was making replica Yak-3's powered with Merlin engines with old jigs and tools from fourties. I believe that plane is one of them.
-
I'm pretty sure that is a model cleverly photgraphed to appear real.
-
I 16 would be great for the CT.
-

Nope that is not a model.
-
Model with Champion spark-plug adversitement ? well maybe but these are real: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/yak3.html and http://www.nzfpm.co.nz/former/yak3.htm
-
Yak-3 should be added I think.
-
Yak-3T: anti-tank version built in small numbers with 37-mm N-37 cannon and two 20-mm B-20S cannon.
Slobber!
HTC could also easily make the Yak-1 at the same time.

Yak-3 is actually a later yak than the Yak-9u, it would be pretty balanced in the MA, it's slower than the the yak-9u, turns better (turns 360 degrees in about 3 or 4 less seconds than the yak-9u IIRC and has the same armorment as the yak-9u (which keeps the spray and prayers out of it) so all in all it's a good plane that would be great for the Russian plane set
Now all the Russians need is a Il-2M3 with 2 37mm cannons :D

PERK RADIO CONTROLLED MODELS IN ACES HIGH!!!

Bet not. Look at the heat shimmers coming off the tarmac; they're the right size relative to a real plane, much too small if it's a model.
-
Whats up with the reflective tarmac then? I spent countless days on hot flightlines....I've never seen them reflect.
-
Isnt the Yak-9U the supreme dogfighter for the VVS? Yak-3 is almost identical isnt it? Yak-9U in AH is a beautifull ride.

The AH Yak 9U has a top speed of 425 mph, the Yak 3 with VK-107a engine should have a top speed of 447 mph (720 km/h) according to most sources I've found.
There were various experimental conversions of the Yak-3: Yak-3/VK-108: experimental and fastest Yak-3 aircraft with VK-108 engine, first flown 19 December 1944, demonstrated a maximum speed of 463 mph (745 km/h) at 19,685 ft (6,000 m)

Maybe the tarmac was wet Raub?
We need this one, all the poor lil yellow stripe mudstain pile-its will surely be whining. ;)
-
Thats got to be an r/c aircraft. Why else would the camera be on the ground? People put cameras at ground level when they try to make stuff look bigger.
-
Nope Fdiron, it is real. They are making YAK-3UA's again. Powered with a Merlin or Allison engine - your choice.
You can pick one up factory fresh for just $350,000 (+tax :D )
