Title: Early war buff Varients.....
Post by: brady on March 26, 2002, 06:59:43 PM
What if we simply added a few early war buff varients to help fill out the early war buff set up this would  be very helpfull in the CT, and I think easyer for HTC to do than say make us a bunch of early war buff's, for example:

 B 26, or B 26A aka Marauder I

 Lancaster I

 B 17F or earler

 Mossie a earler buff varient...

JU 88A-14 for example, although not earler a varent with a 20mm forward firing canon would be nice.

Blenheims would be nice.
SB-2
Pe-2
Ju 87b/d
He 177a-5(not early)
Ju 88c-6 or Ju 88h-2 Heavy fighters. (Zerstörer)

And ofcourse 190A-6!!!!!:D

Well new buffs of course would be nice, but speaking in terms of varients of existing models only since they would be the easyest to do and would provide early vershions of our mostly late war bomber selection.

I agree Brady.

But the reason before they didn't have too may variants was the 64 craft limit (aircraft/vehicles/boats). Now that Pryo has fixed that problem, adding additional aircraft should not be an issue.

B-26/A-26, Lancaster, Ju-88, and Mossie variants would be very sweet...

Just guessing, bit I would have thought one one of the easiest ways to add to the "buff scene" as a whole would be to add the Schrage music gun installation to the Me110 and Ju88 (they did both have it?)

We could start making proper use of the night :-)

It would be interesting to see the Nightfighter varients of both these planes.

But it would be great to have some early war buff varients to help out in the CT:)

another B26 instead of a b24 or b25 even?

another B17 before a wellington  or dauntless

and what about :
B24 (most widely used bomber of the entire war)
swordfish(1600lbs!!! in an old stringbag! :))
baltimore (cool looking US plane)
piaggio P108
beaufort
SBD

how about a real rare plane?

Polish PZL P37B (5,688lb) 276mph (3 Mgs) from 1939?

russian?

petlyakov Pe-8
(8,830lb) 265mph (2x20mm 4 mgs) 1940

theres so many why restrict ourselves to the same models?

id rather see almost any of these before another version of planes we already got

I agree Brady, definitely the easiest way of introducing more early war buffs, though the B26A did have another bomb-bay on the early model.

Of course I would like to see some new early war buffs such as:-

He111
Do17 or Do217
Blenheim IV or Armstrong Whitworth Whitley
Vickers Wellington
B17-F

And any period B25 is a must!

Please dont mistake my meaning gent's I am all for new bombers, in fact if given a choice I wold rather se a Welington than a B 26 or a B 26A, it is simple this a B 26 would be easy to make for HTC since it is a mod not a new make, consider this a stop gap meashure:)

It has always been my understanding that the only difference between the Lancaster Mk I and Mk III was the engines.  Mk I's had RR Merlins and the Mk III had Packard Merlins.  The four .303 equipped rear turret was standard on both throughout most of the war.

DB-7/ A-20 Would be nice. A-20G would be fun I bet. Single seat, fast, ton o guns in the nose.

A bud's Dad flew one in the Pac during the war.
