if there is I'd be very interested to know. warbirds.org has been one of the main structuring elements in this so-called community and its disappearance is a real blow.

I believe the problem is out of Olivers hands right now. Is there anyone out there in AH with the facilities to offer the AH community such a service as Warbirds.org?

Prior to leaving Waribirds I had e-mailed Oliver for two months about a question I had. I never heard back from him.

When we came on board to Aces High someone suggested we try "Onelist.com".  It is what we are using now. I don't care for it, but is serves the purpose.

I got my squad signed up with egroups.com last night.

I think this is where a lot of warbirds squads are going. You have the options of recieving all your daily email as one lump sum, individually, or in a bbs type format. Pretty useful piece of software as I see it.

Hblair have you stretched your logo again so I have to zigzag all the way down threads you've posted in?

I thought we'd chopped you back before  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Geez glars, its time to chunk that old 13.5 inch black and white monitor, and get you something you can run at least 1024 on.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Is that better?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

If you're looking for a good way to have good squad communication I would heartily recommend EzBoard (http://www.ezboard.com) for their fast FREE bulletin boards that are faster to view than UBB's and also have their own quick codes similar to UBB code to add smilies and images etc. I set one up for Tangmere Wing (http://command.warbirds.org/) and it was very much liked by the squads, its manly a WB based board but if you want to take a look and see what the EzBoard looks like then take a look here (http://pub5.ezboard.com/brevvin)

Well, be careful what you ask for  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

I have talked to HiTech and Pyro, and we came up with this.

Anyone wanting an email address associated with AH, of course you have to have an account with them can have one.

Here is how it works.

I will setup forwarding aliases for anyone that wants one.  What does this mean?

Take Badger (uh, maybe take is a poor choice of words  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)). If Badger wants an AH email address, he would send a request to:

skuzzy@aceshighcs.com

with the following information:

1)  Full Name
2)  Real E-Mail address
3)  Pilot Handle

I would then setup an alias called

badger@aceshighcs.com

Which would automatically forward email coming into that address to his real email address.
Badger, would in turn, just change his reply-to address is his email software to Badger@aceshighcs.com.

Anyone getting email from Badger would see that address, not his real address when a reply is done.

Would that be okay with everyone?  Any questions?

Oh, BTW, aceshighcs stands for Aces High Combat Sim.

Skuzzy, is there a way to do multiple email address mailings, like a Squadron address that would nail everyone on it?

Sure, we can definately do that.  Just need the complete list of addresses and what you want to call the name of the alias.

That is great! We are using "Onelist" right now, so...

If I send you a list of e-mails and wanted it called mongrels@aceshighcs.com you could do that?

How could we/I moderate it? Would I have to contact you every time I wanted to add or (Lord forbid) remove a member?

Thanks for all you are doing!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Guys, thanks for your responce and info. I though i could get some sort of answer to this. Right now I don't have an active account. I'm just waitting for a bit more money and see what is coming up here. Already have 1 squad mate in here. I can wait for you Saintaw for your taking over warbirds.com. I glad I put this up because we got something going for you guys.
