A7 or F8?

A7 Corsair

How can you tell?

Its missing this to be a F8:

But it has this, qualifying it as an A7:

Your pic also indicates that it possibly could have been a two-seater, note the Seat Rail for ejection seat. Also, the body line near the bottom, look at them closely, the F8 is thinner, less bulbulous.

Thanx Rip... I appreciate your taking the time to explain the differences. I can tell the difference if they are complete aircraft, but in pieces or greatly damaged, I'm not up on the details.

Hey Sandman, do you know where they are at on the B-29 restoration in Inyokern?

Theres a B-29 Restoration project going on at the Boeing Museum of Flight (Captain member here) if anyone in the Seattle area is interested..I'll get you the information. If you'd like, you can also take home some of the work and do it in your spare time in your own work-shop or garage.

Oops, missed this, no prob Sandman, I too did not know until I did alittle research. Tough to tell when they're that dismantled. Too bad the best parts were gone, the emmpenage(sp?) and the cockpit!
