Title: Aces High and the big vote.
Post by: Target on April 18, 2000, 08:32:00 PM
Currently the Furball Poll (http://furball.dogfighter.com) asks the question, 'Who will be on top in 2001?'.

Havn't got many Aces High votes which made me wonder until I realized I'd forgotten to post here about it. Sorry.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Tell you what, you find an extra $30 bucks a month in your budget to pay for my flying time, and I'm THERE!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Oh, btw, you may notice that all the sims listed are WWII era prop sims. DoA is therefore not listed. After all, I wanted to give the rest of these sims a chance of winning.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

check and make sure you dont have another window open. the UBB opens other sites in new windows so if you have another window open in the background, it may be there.

Making sure that another window is not open does not work. We still can't get to the poll. Any suggestions???

LOL, except that the first people I told where the guys at the B-17 II UBB and the one in the lead at the outset was WWIIOL. Hehe.

Mouthpiece is a strong word. I'm a fan site devoted mostly to Warbirds and Dawn of Aces. As such my scope is limited and my relationship with iEN cordial. iEN friendly? Sure. Mouthpiece? No. Not even close.

Warbirds is running in 4th place at the moment, beat out, in part, by Aces High.

Target. We all vote with our money. You,ll just have to wait to see how it turns out.

The winner in all of this IMO will be the first co. that recognizes that there are two markets out here. And installs 2 lagitimet  arenas. You have the old burnouts, that need more and more strat to feed there addiction. And the very nessesary newbie,s. That just want to get into a fight as quick as posibile and have some fun. some of us old timers feel that way too  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

WB has its ACA but the FM is a ripoff. AH has the training arena, But it is what it is, a training arena.

I think I'm more likely to be interested in a sim based on it's immersiveness, than in gameplay. Even if the flight model isn't historically accurate, the more I 'feel' like I'm there, the more I'll enjoy it. I'm just a visual person I guess. Eye candy really WORKS on me.

Before I get even more confused, are you saying you can't get to furball at all????

I can, it IS up.
 http://furball.dogfighter.com (http://furball.dogfighter.com)
or www.furball.dogfighter.com (http://www.furball.dogfighter.com)

Either way.
Once you get there, the poll is on the right side of the page. Click on your best guess for the front runner in 2001 and hit submit. It should refresh with the current results.

I know someone from Aces High is voting, hehe, cuz you're comin' up in the poll.

I have, and the 'The UN-official Dawn of Aces/Warbirds site' kinda gives it away as does the abundance of Warbirds and DoA links on the side as well as the predominatley Warbirds orientated news, don't get me wrong its a nice site but hardly impartial.

Funky!

Works from my end. Unless someone's already gotten on your puter and voted, there should be a list of flight sims with a submit button at the bottom, under Furball Poll in the far right column.

BTW, IP #'s are logged. Multiple votes from the same IP # are not allowed. If the same IP comes back it should just be the updated results, with no voting option.

Does the Aces High internet server have stable IP #'s assigned, rather than randomly assigned? Might be the problem.

Don't want to rain on anybodies parade but this is the ONLY place where my message re: the poll keeps getting punted.

Might explain the heavy activity on the AH side of the house. Not sure yet, havn't checked my stats today so don't know how many coming from where.

However, I can say that from the emails I've gotten and the messages in this forum, Aces High gets high votes for having the most commited fans. (Or at least, fans who ought to be commited.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) )
