What are the top 5 B&Z planes in the AH planeset right now? I am flying the f6f like a B&Z'er right now and it seems to be doing pretty well. How would the f6f stack up in u're top 5 list??????

Interesting thread,
1. ME-262 Because it can bounce you before you can see than A/C icon coming. Plus those guns, jeez.
2. FW-190D9/A8 D9 is better but A8 has the guns. Both handle very well at high speed and the D9 has outstanding virtical capabilty.
3. F4U-4/1C Great high speed manueverabilty plus great virtical performance. The -1C has the guns minus the virtical.
4. P-51D Ditto but not quite as good in the virtical.
5. P-47D/F4U-1D Ditto Again not quite as good in the virtical.
I'm curious that so many people say the ME109G10. I find the high speed handling poor. Great climber interceptor but when your diving 5K over your opponant don't you have to pull out before you go splat??

I always consider 2 things the most important in a BnZ plane, firepower so you can lay out heavy damage (at least) in 1 pass, and high speed maneuverability so you can line up your shot. Therefore, my list includes:
My list of best BnZ'rs: (non-perk)
-P47 (8*.50, you can mutilate people with it and it handles well at high speed)
-SpitIX (hispano's, good handling at reasonably high speeds) plus if you screw up you can try and turn with him.
-Typhoon (4*hispano... deathrays from god), good at higher speeds though not great.
-190A8 - 4*20mm option. Heavy as a truck but the roll allows you to adjust your flight quickly to get in position for a shot. 4*20mm makes any hits pretty effective.
-190D9 - nice firepower, good climb, good level speed if everything goes to hell and you need to leave. Again, it can maneuver well at high speeds so allows you to line up shots better.
I never consider the 109's as that great, especially the G10 which rides too fine a line between high speeds and compression. It also doesn't have the firepower unless you pack the 30mm or you load up on gondolas which turn the whole thing into a dumptruck. It's hard to line up a good shot when you can barely roll at 450mph.
The P51 is ok, but 6 *.50 just isn't the same as 8*50 and the P-51 tends to be pretty fragile to stray hits... the engine or rad seems to go pretty easy. The wings also can get creaking badly or you can pluck the wings off pulling G's.
Just my opinion though...

1) Jug-30
2) Jug-25
3) Jug-11
4) P-51
5) Dora

I agree F4UDOA, the poor high speed handling of the G10 makes it a bad plane to BnZ in. You have to bleed off too much speed just to stay under control. I think the 190A8 is better than the D9. It compresses at a higher speed(for some odd reason), and its guns let you kill with a snapshot if your target breaks. My list would be:
P51D (ammo load, speed, good E retention, high speed handling)
La7 (only below 20-25k)
Fw190A8/D9
F4U
Typhoon
Some planes that are great BnZers...but get used for TnB all the time:
Spit9
Yak9U
N1K2

Prolly cause 109 isn't made to BnZ.

Yep, A8 puts the Boom in Boom and Zoom

Ah, the poor Lightning. Once again, overlooked and under-estimated. That's OK though. I kinda like it that way. ;)
I'll just add one other unlikely suspect to this discussion: Ki-61.
Good diver with respectable zoom and high speed handling. Plus, those Ho-5s will make a big mess if your aim is true. It's also a decent turner if you should happen to screw up your B&Z attacks and find yourself on the defensive.

My Only complaint with the 38 as a B&Z plane is that I spend too much time riding the break to deal with compression. While I imagine this could be overcome to some extent with experience, I do think that it's a valid enough concern to keep it off most people's list. Hell I flew the thing for three weeks just to get my breaking down in time for Sicily lol.

1. Mossie
2-5- don't give 2 hoots:)
Seriously the mossie is pretty good at using b n z tactics. It controls well at high speed, has 4 nose mounted hispanos and it has a good zoom climb.
Try it sometimes guys- would be nice to see a few more mossies in the sky.
