A lot of people are asking for planes of the early war years. Well, the P40 was excellent at low altitudes, sturdy and very good in diving. I think  that's a plane that should definitely be added.

ok,viper17s teams,i know the arena,i went there a few times actually tho I mostly do FFAs. Probably tomorrow evening.at least you chasing me will give the other guys in my team a break cause I'm sure you are the top scorer there...or am I wrong? :D

why you call it toejamfire???????????? It's a beautiful plane.It's trim,elegant,slick,sexy,slender,provocative and deadly. The fact that it's maneuvrable doesn't mean that poor pilots can be effective in it. Being a good fighter is equivalent with having good situational awareness.
Like Yeager said...It's the man,not the machine. Personally I find the Spitfire more adequate for my fighting style, which is trying to outmaneuver the enemy. Other people like b&z.It's all a matter of personal preference, and no plane is a 'newbie's' plane.

well then,u don't fly P38s, you drive them...seriously now,all that plane can do is dive dive dive.I don't see the point of putting two engines except to make it heavier.What a waste of material!
And the only people who fly P38s are sad boom and zoomers who spent their hours hunting unsuspecting newbies from above and then diving on them...sure they get kills cause they have time to stay up there anc carefully pick and stalk their targets cause they don't have a life!!!

sissyfire, dweebfire, spitweeb and toejamfire

i use the spitfire as base defender against vulchers
for the rest it's got no use other than to improve newbies ego's

turn turn and u burn

(there is more than pulling ur stick backwards)

anyway i wish u alot off joy with ur spit
an i wish u alot off zero's  :D

Yes AH needs an early P40.

Either a very early mixed armament B/C or the later 6 50cal E model with short tail. The later long tail P40s are ugly and out of proportion!

The personal preference to 'turn and burning' itself sort of proves that someone is in the 'n00b' category, since that exact preference is the main reason for people getting shot down in large scale, multi plane engagements. (Of course, this isn't all true if someone actually prefers to be shot down :rolleyes:...)
 
 WWII planes evolved in a certain direction because after 1941, nobody ever wanted to TnB again.

 I don't remember seeing Leviathan TnB in his SpitMk.V (He seems to fly more of a smart-hybrid style)

 ...

 I'd really love to see you TnB against people in a A6M5b Zero(the bad turner of the Zero family), spitmkv.  I'm sure your choice of flying for survival and victory will never result in you being a BnZer against a Zero, and you will emerge victorious by out turning it. :rolleyes:
