Title: New Installation
Post by: Wolftin on March 30, 2002, 03:04:44 PM: Ello. I just tried to download the and install the game. At the end of the download I was prompted to open the file, thus beginning the installation process. At this time I recieved and error code and installaion stopped before it even begain. This was the code:

Could not initialize installation (CRC) The parameter is incorrect.

My system:

AMD\K6-2 450
Via Apollo MVP3G AGP/PCIset shipset (Motherboard)
394 MB RAM
Radeon SDR 64MB RAM
AWE64 16-bit Audio (SB-16 compatible)
56K US Robotics Modem

Downloaded Version:

AH1092.exe 26MB 3/26/02

After running into this problem the first time I checked the boards, but found no refference to this type of problem. So I deleted my first download and tried again. Second download/installation atempt met with same error code and failure. I would appreciate any help.

I just download the AH1092.exe 26MB from main site to install it on my friends computer with no problem.

Post by: HawkerMKII on April 01, 2002, 12:49:16 PM: Well I am making head way, yes i was using AOL so I d/l AH via internet explorer and it d/l ok. I installed it ok BUT when i went to load game it gave me an error saying...missing DSOUND.DLL.12.

Any ideas on where to get this and where to put it would be helpful:)

Yes I was using AOL, No I didn't use a accelerator and I believe I have DirectX 8.0.

Skuzzy ye be right. It was a download problem (Maybe from AOL, I dont know) Went to a friends house and networked with his system. Then we transfered his original download to my system. We found about a .7mb difference in the two down loads, mine missing the .7mb of course :(

So I be up and running...or rather crashing now :p...Hope this will at least help others in the future.
