Well, I finally couldn't resist the temptation and installed XP Pro. Everything seemed to work fine and I had no problem with getting USB CH Pro-throttle and Pro-Pedals supported in AH. My CH FX stick could only be supported as a 6 button 2-POV stick as the CH FX drivers do not work (apparently) in XP (CH notes that too). My question is my inability to get force feedback supported and I've tested this in a number of ways(turning FF effects on and off during play, etc.).
In the past when I had Win98, and AH sees the CH FX stick, and force feedback support was not a problem. It appears now that, when AH does not see the CH FF stick but a 6-button 2-POV stick, I cannot get force feedback to work!
Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to get FF to work?
For AH staffers, does this require a modification in programming and can that be supported? FYI, I remembered that in Air Warrior, force feedback was supported regardless of what Windows sees the stick as (I could get windows to support my CH FX FF stick as one of a number of sticks and still get forcefeedback supported in the game.), so I know this can technically be supported.
I would hate to have to replace the springs on another C stick I have just to get rid of that limp feeling I get currently. The resistance I would prefer is similar to what a Thrustmaster F22 stick would produce.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
