6. Fixed bug with trains and car columns not being destroying correctly when playing a cooperative mission.
7. The situation with destroyed buildings, bridges, and other constructions is now synchronized when playing an on-line game, even in dogfight mode.
8. When a bridge is bombed, the objects traveling over it are now correctly destroyed, synchronizing their status and giving proper score points when playing cooperative games.
9. Aircraft gunners will no longer shoot when the plane is damaged beyond critical limit or when the crew is trying to bail out.
10. AI aircraft will dump their bomb load passively on landing.
11. The autopilot will no longer dump bombs infinitely on landing when ‘unlimited ammo’ difficulty flag is set.
12. Bombs will no longer detonate if the player’s aircraft crashes with ‘invulnerability’ on.

20. Wheel brakes won’t screech when the gear wheels are shot off.
21. Pilots running into parked planes won’t cause them to explode.
22. Dead AI crewmen will no longer move their heads to track their targets.
23. You no longer need to swing the throttle back and forth to get the correct throttle setting when a mission begins or restarts.
24. Polish national insignia on aircraft has been corrected.
3. New Flight Model
1. Reworked high AOA effect on drag and lift.
2. Reworked energy bleed and addressed energy bleed in sustained turns.
3. Addressed rates of climb and maneuverability of individual aircraft.
4. Reworked spin behaviors of a number of aircraft.
5. Reworked impact of deployed flaps on wing properties.
4. New ‘Home Base’ Features in the Full Mission Builder
The Home Base object has a new Aircraft tab in its properties. You may need to resize the Object window to see it in it’s entirety.
The aircraft listed in the Available pane will be available on that Home Base when on-line. You may add the planes to the Available list or remove them into In Reserve individually, or by category, such as Country of Origin, Year of Service, or Aircraft Type. Note that you can only operate on currently flyable aircraft.
By default, or when running a mission with Home Bases of a previous version, all flyable aircraft are Available.
5. On-Line Stat Messages
The server hosting an on-line game may set the ‘level of detail’ of the server auto-generated stat messages. The level is set in the conf.ini file in the Il-2 folder, in section [chat], in the autoLogDetail key.
Ex.:
[chat]
autoLogDetail = 3
You can set the key to the following options:
0 - disables all stat messages.
1 - only player-vs-player kill messages are displayed.
2 - displays player-vs-player, and AI-vs-player kill messages.
3 - a lot of chit-chatting.
6. Integrated FPS Meter
The feature is activated and deactivated via a console command. To bring up the command console, press the “~” key to bring up the chat window, then the “>” key to enter the console mode.
The command syntax is:
fps [START|STOP] [SHOW|HIDE] [LOG ]
START or STOP keys are used to make the meter begin working or to stop. Upon stopping, it prints the FPS statistics accumulated to the moment.
SHOW or HIDE indicate whether to show the FPS stats in the upper part of the game screen.
LOG sets the interval (in seconds) the FPS stat would be printed into console at. LOG 0 disables printing.
E.g.:
To start accumulating stats silently, use fps START HIDE LOG 0. You now may use fps STOP to view your average FPS.
7. Icons in On-Line Games
The server hosting an on-line game now has an ability to set distances at which the plane icons will be visible. The command syntax is:
mp_dotrange [FRIENDLY|FOE] [DEFAULT] [COLOR ] [DOT ] [RANGE ] [TYPE ] [ID ] [NAME ]
FRIENDLY of FOE keywords define as to what party the following parameters apply – the aircraft of the viewer’s army, or the aircraft of the hostile armies.
The following keys define the distance the appropriate icon effect is enabled at:
COLOR - the distance the icon takes the color of the inbound plane’s army at. Icons farther than that are drawn in grey.
DOT – how far the ‘dot’ plane marker is visible.
RANGE – how far to draw the distance numbers in the icon.
TYPE – how far the airplane model or model family is visible.
ID – how far the tactical number is visible.
NAME – how far the aircraft’s pilot name is visible (if it is driven by a human pilot).
mp_dotrange DEFAULT restores the Il-2 pre-defined icon set-up.
mp_dotrange run without parameters prints the current icon set-up ranges (may be issued both on client and server sides).
8. Timeout Limits and Auto-Kicking
There is a new [MaxLag] section in the conf.ini file.
Ex.:
[MaxLag]
farMaxLagTime = 10.0
nearMaxLagTime = 2.0
cheaterWarningDelay = 5.0
cheaterWarningNum = -1
farMaxLagTime - defines the maximum delay (in seconds) between packets received from a given client. A delay greater than this is considered a ‘warp’.
nearMaxLagTime - defines the maximum allowed lag time for an aircraft in an endangered position, or when it is considered being jeopardizing a hostile aircraft. Giving lower values is meant to address ‘warp-on-purpose’ issue.
cheaterWarningDelay - defines the delay the system will take no actions after it finds a player behavior out of bounds. Used to avoid issuing multiple warnings on one glitch.
cheaterWarningNum - defines the number of warnings issued before kicking the player. The value of -1 disables auto-kicking.
9. B/W Intermission Tracks
To make a pre-recorded track file play as B/W movie between missions in a given campaign, insert a link to it, preceded with a ‘*’ symbol, into the section of the ‘campaign.ini’ found in the given campaign folder.
Ex.:
* Intros/Intro.trk
recon20.mis
* Intros/EndIL2.trk
recon21.mis
* Intros/End109.trk
recon22.mis
10. On-Line Time of Day commands
Online host can change the time of day in the mission at any time while it is running.
The command must be run from the command console. To bring up the command console, press the “~” key to bring up the chat window, then the “>” key to enter the console mode.
The syntax of the ToD command is as follows:
tod
[hour.minute]
The hours should be used in the military format, i.e. 17 hours for 5 pm, 23 hours for 11 pm, etc
For example, to set time of day to 6:30 am, run the following command:
tod 06.30
To set time of day to 10:15 pm, run:
tod 22.15[/b]
I haven't read it all, but look at the new German fighter... 109F-4!!! Finally the F model with some punch!
Rumors have it that it's in testing, or is on it's way, and UBI hopes to have testing done by the week of April 11th (yes, that is a Thursday... UBI's weeks must start on Thursday) and will probably be available the week after.
BTW, there's something peculiar I've noticed in the game... if you fly the Normandie-Nieman mission #4 in Single Missions take a look at the #3 and #4 planes taking off behind you.
Are those unmentioned ace paint schemes or some kind of an easter egg?

Seems like very interesting patch, especially with reworked flight model.
Also including some exotic rides.. :)
Now to wait for Emil's to be made flyable.
Franz 4 is good addition, was my favorites in WB and IMO one of the best 109 models.

I had considered haveing a new computer built, to play this thing. Online of course. I cant get into boxed sims for some reason. I decided not to based on the number of Cheating Threads I ran acrossed on different boards. Have they done anything to sacure the game for online play?
-
Supposedly there is new anti-cheating code in there....
The problem they have with cheating is the world renowned speed hack... more popular in the l33t script kiddies games, like CS and QIII Arena/UT... It just spoofs packets and garbage like that- something external to the game. Any network game can be subjected to speed hack- HTC just monitors their server for funky activity and has checksums in place that make it easier to identify these weenies. We don't hear about it because HTC deals with them quietly and effectively. Plus over there, those guys don't know the basic difference between lag and a real cheat. Most of them were born into online playing via EAW, so they aren't exactly the brightest of the bunch.
Anyway, there's supposed to be something that checks for speed hack running in the background or something like that in the 1.04 patch.
I don't play Il-2 online much anyway, unless it's with guys I know, because of it's flaps-airbrakes and other uses of gaming the game. You can shut your engine off, and it'll cool off instantly... a lot of people use that (although I don't agree with the engines heating up after 3 minutes at 100% throttle anyway... a lot of these engines ran for over 30 minutes at 100% throttle)
Just some words of warning before you shell out $40 or $50 for it, prolly best to wait until 1.04 patch is released and read some reviews of it before you decide to purchase it.

P.11c, FM improvements, vastly improved icon system, very nice. I'll definitely give it a whirl again.
-
Easymo....DO IT!
They said they have addressed the cheats and the engine overheat deal was not a hack, it is just one of those "gaming the game" issues, the code allows it so some will use it no matter what, sorta like me firing through my wings and tailsurfaces in AH or moving the fleet to BFE off the map.
Oleg says that and the flaps issues are fixed.
That is a mighty wide brush AKSWulfe.
-
the engine cool thingy is nothing like firing through plane surfaces or hiding a fleet.
Its much worse and its a severe "game the game" deal.
Thats the ting with box sims you are never certain who you can trust. Atleast in AH I take for granted that some one is keeping a trained eye out for cheaters. Games like eaw cfs series were renown for it hacks and this is the same community that dominates il2 (not just the hacks).
I stopped flying il2 myself and look forward to this patch. The game mostly sits in he cd rack collecting dust next to janes eaw cfs2.

:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

AKSwulfe,
The engine doesn't cool off instantly when you shut down the engine.
Needle drops, but try to start the engine again and needle jumps up to expected levels.
It does increase the rate of cooling down, but it still does need quite alot time to cool down.
at least thats how it seemed when i tested it couple of months ago.

it's neither an eastern egg nor an ace paint scheme some frecnh mecanics have painted some plane like that during a short period of time.
I've asked a friend of mine to scan me some photo I'll post them here after he send them to me

Jbroey-
Surely you know some of us understand German? ;)
Il2 has great points, it has weak points, but the panacea of flight sims it ain't. Great missions, great co-op, great visual effects, a different perspective on modeling... does that appear to sum it up fairly? And you're right, the player limit is a notable and distinguishing minus, and it is fair to point it out.
If the Il2 guys are going to compare the strengths of Il2 against the weaknesses of AH, then they can only expect the reverse will happen in return. I fly both- AH online, Il2 off. That works for me.
FWIW, how many AH guys are on the Il2 board mouthing off about how much better AH is than Il2? I would also point out there are many AH pilots that play Il2 and love it.
Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel? ;)

Ah, I didn't know that Straffo. Thanks a lot! I'd never seen a Yak-1B painted like that so I thought it might of been some ace... especially since those two particular aircraft have unique (well compared to other aircraft flying in the mission) plane numbers.
Oh well, I was hoping there were more ace paint schemes that weren't in the QMB... but this makes me wonder why Oleg didn't make that particular paint scheme an option for the user to fly. That would be really sweet.
Thanks for the photos too Straffo!

np Sw my pleasure :)
If you want some strange paint job I've in stock some NC900 (190A5) in french color + some Ju88 ,Ju188 ,Japanese planes used during the last month of WWII or just after by French forces :)
Concerning camo and french camo for IL-2 have a look to this page
Virtual NN paint factory (http://spazioweb.inwind.it/nn_avirex/)
This site has been made by 2 friend who are great skinner (and they are working on the 262 cockpit :))
