Yawn.  A friend just bought me Hooper, "The Greatest Stuntman Alive".  Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Rosco P. Coltrain (whatever his name is), Adam West, Jan Michael Vincent (pre alcohol/drug-induced living death look) and to top it off, Terry Bradshaw with hair.

Next up?  My friends and I have signed up to do stuff on CCTV.  I'll soon start writing a cheesey horror of my very own.  And, oh yes, it will be awful!  :D

You are a sick man AKDejaVu.

My friend Wabbit also has a huge collection.  It must just be what unemployed people do....

Hehe, I better start colecting myself.

Where do you get DVD's for less than a buck?  Or was that just for that one obscure one?

SOB.. I see they mentioned you and 15 others: "It also would eliminate 16.5 jobs".  Has it happened yet... or is it looming?

I'm quite employed... which is why I don't have to spend my time looking for a job.  Its just that until recently... the "competition" has had the luxury of sitting at home buying things like the Bob Smith special edition trilogy collector's box.  Though... looks like he's going to be back in that loop soon.

I have never seen a DVD for less than $1.  I think that speaks volumes for the likeliness of a "Killer Clowns from Outer Space" addition to my collection.

Nah, happened in Feb.  I'm already enrolled at Chemeketa and hopefully will be accepted to the Network Tech program there...I have to complete a math class before they'll take me.  9 years since high school and algebra gets a little fuzzy!

Other than that, it's back to looking.  I'll have to get something nights while I'm doing school tho'.

One of you DVDweebs might know the answer to this.
Back in my college days one of our favorite BAD movies was Flesh Gordon. Now I remember seeing an X-rated version and an R-rated version. Has anyone seen this one in the original version available?

....um er....a friend was wondering.... :D

I see no Monty Python movies in your collection...therefore it is woefully incomplete.

;)

Heya MT, I saw the R-rated version when it first came out. If you like comedy check out "Best in Show." It's making the HBO rounds right now, and what makes it so good is that it's mostly improv.

Me thinks that those of you slamming "Joe Dirt" and "Zoolander" haven't seen "Get Carter" and "Ghosts of Mars" before.  Those are two of the gems of my collection.  Perhaps the worst "we really didn't mean to make a bad movie" movies I've ever seen.

Joe Dirt was in the bargain bin... and its not the worst movie I've seen by a long shot.

Zoolander kills me.  I've been practicing "Blue Steel" and think I have it down.  I'm not quite ready for "Magnum" just yet... but that day will come.

Sorry to hear that SOB.  I thought you working in a penal environment was an excellent match.

Hope stuff works out for you... it's not a stellar time to be searching for a job in Oregon.

Hehe,
Wabbit has a (cough) job too.
He fixes computers and raises African Greys.
He does have an insane DVD colection though.

It's called Flesh Gordon, pretty funny old late 70's porn.

Is that it?

Doberman's DVD Collection (http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=DougHillman)

Over 300 and counting.   And that # doesn't even include a handful of stuff that's not been entered into the database yet.  Probably about another 20 laying around here that need to be added.

I saw it in the theaters with the wife.  It was hilarious.

I find it easier to justify the purchase with the wife unit if I haven't already seen the movie.  If its on sale its even easier.  Basically.. I have to use every trick in the book.

Deja, you need anime.  and the only way I'd get Killer Clowns from Outer Space is if someone PAID me to take it.  The one that caught my eye the most on your list was Much Ado About Nothing.  Perhaps my favorite Shakespeare play turned into a movie.  :)

Doberman, you need more anime.  Oooo!  Seven Samurai!

Doberman.. just looked through your collection... its actually about the same size as mine.  Not bad... though I wonder if you are single or divorced... you go towards tragedies while mine is more towards cheesy romance (thanks to the wife for that one).

Other than your liking of Kurisawa films and mine for all that was 80's... pretty similar tastes... just different portions completed.

The funny thing is.. we are both at about 300 dvds... yet we only have about 60 that are the same.  We could open a video store;)
