So I spot what appears to be a stratobuff. I up in a Mossie to take it out. After a *long* climb - oops, it's a Spit!
I break off but he follows, and so I dive towards where some friendlies are over half a square away (but then we're at 25k+). Compression hits, the whole aircraft vibrates, but he's still on my tail. Will I reach them in time? I blast through a pair of friendlies and so does the Spit. I'm counting on them to distract the Spit, and they do, so I do a hammerhead, line up the Spit beneath me and kill the Spit with my cannons. Wow!

Well I have always said: 'No matter how high you fly! You gonna always meet higher Spit, NIK, La7 or P51' :D

Anyone flying an LA7 (or for that matter, a N1K) over 20-25k just gave up any advantage in aircraft performance they had :D When I'm in a 109 at 20k and meet a LA-7 or N1K co-alt, I start salivating..

If I run into them in my Tempest I just kill them and move on... :D But actually they tend to be about 5k higher everytime at the begining :)

Ran into that a few days ago. P51 followed me 25 miles at d1.2k on the deck while I raced back into friendly territory in my semi-shot up P38. Called on AHVoice to let the guys at the field know what was comming in. After they had him suitably distracted I was able to circle about and get the kill on him. Sweet revenge.
Of course he blew me out of the sky not too much later, but by then he was in an LA7. I think we were even for the night.
AHVoice is SO nice.
