The PTO planeset is slowly expanding.  (I mean snail's pace).

HTC just must prefer Euro planes (except for the USN??).   I wish it was more balanced also.    OTOH, soon there will only be Japanese planes left to model, so be patient.

We had a pretty good discussion about this last week (and on into this week) and I think that most agreed that while we (those of us participating in the thread) prefered the pac planeset, a majority of the players (as indicated by theater preference in AW) preferred the ETO planeset. From a business view then, it just makes more sense for the ETO planeset to develope faster than the pac. I'm glad they gave us the Ki-67 though. Our time will come... oh yes, our time will come.

LOL. Looking forward to the future :)

More IJN planes would be outstanding. I think Wotan stated in another thread about IJN torpedo planes. the following might be the reason why it's taking a while for Hitech to come up with a planeset for the PTO. if ya'll find some other IJN A/C that you think would be cool let me know, I'm still researching.

The Nakajima B5N Kate did not have armor, self-sealing tanks, forward firing MG (Only one 7.7mm in the rear) Kamikaze plane only, I reckon. Is it worth it? More is always better.                    Top speed 235mph

The Nakjima B6N Jill had 2 7.7mm forward and a ventral MG (7.7mm?) It replaced the Kate in 1943. reports call the Jill as not much better that Kate.
Top speed 301 mph.

These plane are the ones i have found that would be Historicaly and time accurate for planeset. We probably wont fly most of these. IJN A/C were very maneuerable, but not much else till the end of the war. thses are just some examples.

For a PTO IJN early planeset:
KI-43/ Oscar / Fighter              (intro.1941)
KI-27/ Nate / Fighter               (intro.1938)
KI-45/ Nick / Sort of a JAAF's version of Me-110 (intro.1942)
B5N/ Kate / Torpedo bomber   (intro.1938)
D3A1, VAL / Dive bomber         (intro. 1940)
D2Y2, Judy / Dive bomber        (intro. 1942)

For a PTO IJN late planeset:
KI-84/ Frank / Fighter              (intro . 1944)
KI-100/ Fighter  (intro. 1945,Basiclly a radial version of the Ki-61)
B6N/ Jill / Torpedo Bomber      (intro. 1943)
