After alt tabbing in Win 2k or XP, only happens with some Vid cards.

That happens under Windows XP/2000 when u alt tab out of the game. It normally happens with Nvidia cards. This bug doesent appear on every system and not with every set up. I have no clue what setup it causes and what not but i am running XP and i fixed it with a litte refresh rate bug fix for Windows XP/2000 used to fix the bug that windows dropping to 65Hrtz when u enter a game.
That programm fixed this grafic bug too.
I am able to tab out and in now :-)

I am running XP with an NVida card and also had this same problem when "escaping" back to the desktop and then going back into the game.

I read somewhere that the XP desktop settings should be set to 16-bit and not 32-bit (AH uses 16 bit). I reset my settings to 16-bit, rebooted and am now able to go between the desktop and AH without getting the funky graphics.

My AH video settings are 1024x768 (16-bit).

Use same color depth and resolution for both AH and window's desktop.

The first one is the primer green used on almost all aircraft prior to the finish being used (for aircraft that don't use natural aluminum finish) :P

I had same problem, but disabling the paletized textures in the video setup that "effect" :D disappeared.

My other pc is working just fine :)  , vid card is Voodoo 3 :D and drivers are just 3 or 4 years old :D :D :D

Like i say some Nvidia carsd causing problems.

U can now try 2 things,

1. Set ur desktop screen size the same like in AH take same colour depth.

2 if that doesent work try the tool i posted.

btw do u have the problem that ur XP change back to 60 Hrtz when u enter a game ?
If it does so the refresh rate fix will fix it also.

I tried both things, changed screen size and  colour depth , installed that fix but nothing new...  :(  ,maybe i just need new drivers to GF2 MX400 :o

i would recommend 23.12 or 23.11

That bugfix doesent work with drivers higher then 27.xx

Well i used to play AH with my other pc which is working fine.
And this Win 2000 is just for surfing.
Anyway thx for helping me :)
