ago made a statement after seeing photo's of mars that appeared to show "seasonal" changes on the planet's surface of possible plant life. Of course his statement was ridiculed by many...but then comes this story....

We're a long way from finding out for certain..but it always has amazed me how Mr. Clarke's statements often find a bearing of truth.

Clarke has always been my favorite science fiction author -- a bit dry perhaps but heavy on the hard science and philosophy. It always pisses me off when they say Kubricks 2001 instead of Clarke 2001. God, how old is he now anyway?

He's still a respected member of the Space Sciences community, and gives a speech via teleconference at every Summer Session Programme of the International Space University (ISU).
One of my favorites as well :)
