I heard a serious suggestion, on the tube, that we send troops over to Palestine as peacekeepers. Are these people insane? We might as well shoot our boys ourselves, and save the transport costs.

I do believe they are.

Yeah, see that celebration on 9/11 on the streets of Lebanon? I think the only people that Radical Muslim religions hate more than Jews is any American.

Ahh, yes, why didn't we think of that!? Isolationism! Just like 1936-1941 all over again!

I'd love to hear what Hackworth has to say about that one...

"Somebody has been reading too much Tom Clancy."
Not only did this dumb broad want to send them in. She wanted them to be unarmed, since they were peacekeepers.
Been listening to to many liberals.

I beleive this is a Saudi Idea, with British backing. I would think if this was to proceed that the peacekeeping force would only proceed if the Isreali Army fully retreated from the occupied lands, and the Peacekeepers inserted as a buffer (ala Golan heights).
I would be more than certain the force would be recruited from British, european and Arab states and would not have any American soldiers. Wether they were armed or not - or how long they would be there is not really on the table yet I would think.

Here is a novel idea. Why dont the Saudi's send in unarmed peacekeepers. They are SO MUCH closer and it would be easy for them to handle the transportation issues. Besides perhaps some of these concerned arabs should try to MEDIATE instead of funding terrorists for a change.
