I kinda think HTC should increase the difficulty of ditching, right now you can ditch with a high sink rate/ high speed and live, which is kinda silly. That, or we need trees and rocks (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Agree 100%.
Seems that some ground clutter is going to be introduced in friday's release (hehehe I'll win the bet (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif))...so maybe with 1.03
we'll see some realistic ditches (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Why Zigrat, whatever are you speaking of? <G>
BTW, Nice fights last night.

Agree 110% (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I'll go along with that, as long as it doesn't become as difficult to ditch as it was in Warbirds. A happy-medium between the two seems most appropriate to me.

Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when
someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it
only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm, grasp the joystick button,
and shoot the sucker down!

Shoot the bastidge till he blows! If you see em trying to land nail em with an extra burst.
I learned that one from Ripsnort a little over a week ago and I even got to apply it to RAM once last week in return. Cod bless you JG2 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Last week, I hit the engine of a P-51 I was fighting and forced him to try to ditch. While surrounded by my hail of lead, the pilot managed to make a very nice ditch, complete with cartwheel.

Hehe, if its an airframe, and has red text attached to it, I kill it! However, I think that y'all should ALWAYS let me ditch cause I'm really a nice guy! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I can't count the number of times I've shed both wings at low alt with a B26 only to survive a 200 mph belly ditch. But I don't want to see the pendulum swing completely in the other direction either, I can remember the first WB's 'ditch adjustment', whereas it become almost impossible to ditch after many expressed opinions of the ease of ditching, somewhere in between should do.
-
it needs to be harder... nothing is soft at 200mph... not even water.
-
True true. It is way to easy to ditch. But landing i wish was a little be harder to. Yet here latly i have been fliping my P51 to much on landing. What about take offs. HE HE
Its all to damn easy. Sept when your the one tring to do the Ditchin. :}

Citabria is right, at 100 foot the surface tention of water is the same as concrete. After the surface tention is breached the dynamics change of course. Speed and angle etc. Anyway, HTC will Know how best to bring this into the game. (proably sooner than I able to deal with it) Hehe (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

On Speedvision I saw a show where they 're-enacted' WW2 missions of 'young pilots'. This one was about a P47D pilot who was shot pretty bad by AAA. He managed to fly all the way back to his base using trim only (Roll and pitch) while flying at tree tops.
He then belly landed on the runway at 300 MPH and survived. He said he wasn't really anxious because it was the second time he had to belly land at such a high speed.
In AH, I would like to still be able to bump my belly at high speed on the ground, as long as my VSI is not too 'exagerated'.

I dont care if they make it harder. as long as we lose the score screwing, lets all hug the ack, captured rule.
BTW. your squad logo works for me frenchy (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).

you guys seem to like to forget about simulating forests and rocks and other unfriendlythings that cover the rolling terrain.
It would be great if HTC coulc find a way to expand on their bumpy off runway effect to be devided into areas that represent unfriendly forest and rough terrain in which ditching is certain death at any speed.
you guys remember the airbus at the airshow?
it didnt auger in because of the ground... it flew through the trees at 150mph and exploded.
trees/buildings/obstacles are nonexistant in almost all ditching situations in AH.

You got it Rip (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I actually ran this poll last week but I will let it run till next Monday.

200kts when you get to close to the runway without level wings. things go bad quickly.

this sim give an unrealistic sensation to players that a mid air colision with a planet isn't dangerous.
