Democrat Implies Sept. 11 Administration Plot (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34565-2002Apr11.html)
"Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) is calling for an investigation into whether President Bush and other government officials had advance notice of terrorist attacks on Sept. 11 but did nothing to prevent them. She added that "persons close to this administration are poised to make huge profits off America's new war.""
My God, who would elect a moron like this to represent them? I guess other morons ..
Like to see who would re-elected her ....

"A majority of peanuts that you eat are produced in Georgia"
Sweet jebus, I dunno about you but that's what makes me elect my officials! ;)
Lessee, how many more threats of attacks have we had since September 11th? How many before?
There are so many threats, it should be a moot point. And what could the president have done on September 11th to prevent that attack? Stopped all air traffic, I'm sure the airlines and passengers would of loved that.
It was a lose/lose situation.

This is the same woman who offered to give The Saudi crown prince a blow job for $10,000,000 or something like that.
McKinniy is no dumb ass. She certainly knows what she's doing. If we look back at Dec. 7th, 1941 we can see how people can go back, and find "evidence" in the historic records which shows that FDR should have known about the attack on Pearl. The problem is that this evidence is usually found using massive ammounts of time and energy to go over the available intel resourses. Time and energy that was not available prior to the attack.
Does anyone have any idea how much intel we collect? I've worked in Intel, and studied it in college, but I still don't have an accurate grasp of the sheer amount of information that comes in for analysis. I'm willing to bet that at some point during the last several years, some information has crossed a desk or two that points at this attack. And after several years of second guessing someone will be able to "Prove" that the administration should have known. I think that McKinny is starting this way too early, but maybe she's already got her hands on something. Sooner or later a Democrat is going to win the political lottery by being the first successfull critic of the Bush Administration (Post Sept 11th that is). Daschle started too early and there was a backlash. No McKinny steps up to the plate. Sould be interesting to watch.
[edit] Lastly, there should be an investigation into the events prior to the attack. But the motive is all wrong here in my opinion. We need to find out WHY we missed it. There seems to be an assumtion that IF we missed it, it was because of curroption. Anyone who's done ANY analysis should know that there are countless ways this can get messed up

Forget it.
We have all the same things here after 1999 apartment bombings. Any bastard who wants cheap publicity finds the "truth" about KGB blowing up houses.

Hell, even I don't think shubs that stupid.
I'll bet she supports reparations for descendants of slaves too.

Just after the September 11th attacks, the Saudi Crown Prince offered Mayor Gulianni a check for several million dollars (I have forgotten the exact amount). The check also included a letter from the prince offering Gulianni his condolences but it went on to say that America had brought these attacks on itself by its policies in the middle east. After reading the letter Mayor Gulianni wisely declined the money.
McKinnley later wrote the Saudi Crown Prince and told him that she agreed with him that America had brought this misery on itself. She went on to state that Atlanta has a large muslim population most of which are black. She said blacks in America have a lot in common with the Palestinians because they also have to endure oppression and discrimination in America. She said that she like to meet the Prince and accept the money that was so rudely declined by Mayor Gulianni.
So basically Sikboy you are correct, she was trying to potato herself and her country out for money.

Heh, that is damn near funny. My favorite quote...
McKinney declined to be interviewed yesterday, but she issued a statement saying: "I am not aware of any evidence showing that President Bush or members of his administration have personally profited from the attacks of 9-11. A complete investigation might reveal that to be the case."
Using her logic, I think we should investigate whether McKinney shot Malcom X and Martin Luther King. After all, an investigation might reveal that to be the case.

The woman is an idiot. The fact that she's democrat is hardly relevant. I'd be willing to bet that the alpha males of the DNC are all rolling there eyes and wishing that she'd shut the hell up.
I'm certain we could generate a list of moronic republicans as well.
The capitol is chock full of idiot politicians.

Well, about 4 or 5 yrs ago my representative in the House was the honorable Shiela Jackson Lee. Back in '96 when the Mars Pathfinder had landed she's at NASA while they are doing a spot on CNN. I can't tell you how disapointed I was when she asked the NASA dudes to "please take it over to where the astronauts put the flag in back in 1969?"
maybe these two have been hanging out?

Well, I was laughing my bellybutton off listening to Neal Boortz today. Mr. Boortz thinks that Democrats are, for the most part, not as smart as Republicans. But he was really on this womans case today. Hard line communist, though she may be, she makes a great Democrat.:D
The image of her leaning half-way into the aisle in an attempt to get Bush to kiss her on the cheek, made me bust out in a ROFLMAOAKTC episode. Then, I had to wait until tonight to read about the blow-job. Oh, Man!
Rumor has it Democrats moved to rezone in her state to get her elected, she's a token representative, brainless (obviously), and is alledgedly backed by a high ratio of Muslims (prejudice?).
Proof positive that even Congress needs comic relief.:D

While openly making such an accusation without any factual basis is downright criminal...
I don't doubt for a minute that elements of our government would allow such a thing to happen if the long term effects were seen as favorable by them. How can our intell community and military protect us if they don't have funds? How can they get the funds they need to protect us?
I am not alone in thinking this. The writers of the movie "Long Kiss Goodnight" postulated that the CIA would blow up a small town with over 3000 casualties and pin it on Arab terrorists to get their budget back up to where it needed to be.
I would hate to think that September 11 was allowed to happen to further the political and economic interests of those in power, but I would not eliminate it as a possibility.
If you believe it is completely impossible for our system to be that corrupt, then I suppose you also believe Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin of Kennedy and that Jack Ruby shot Oswald because he was just a grief-stricken all-American citizen.

WASHINGTON – The congresswoman who accused the Bush administration of allowing energy and defense industry profits to guide its war policy has accepted campaign contributions from employees of groups that support terrorist organizations, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., received $1,000 from Abdurahman Alamoudi, the founder and former executive director of American Muslim Council.
Alamoudi's contribution is one of 45 McKinney received during the 1999-2000 election cycle that did not list the occupation of the donor as required by the FEC. Those donations totaled $24,000.
"I have been labeled by the media in New York as being a supporter of Hamas. Anybody supporters of Hamas here?" Alamoudi asked, to cheers from the crowd at an October 2000 White House protest of U.S. policies in the Middle East.
'We Are All Supporters of Hamas'
"Hear that, Bill Clinton? We are all supporters of Hamas ... I wish they added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah." Hezbollah and Hamas are on the State Department's official list of terrorist organizations.
McKinney received another $1,000 from Aly Abuzaakouk, who listed his employer as American Muslim Council, and $500 from Nihad Hammad, who lists Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) as his workplace.
The data was compiled by Center for Responsive Politics on its Web site http://www.opensecrets.org.
Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR's communications director, would not condemn Osama bin Laden's involvement in the Sept. 11 terrorist assault in an interview with Salon shortly after the attacks.
Other CAIR officials and board members have blamed Israeli and Egyptian intelligence officials for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Federal prosecutor Mary Jo White said in a November 2001 interview with the New Republic that one former CAIR board member was a "possible conspirator" in the 1993 bombing.
'Demand to Know Her Ties'
Phil Kent, president of Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF), says McKinney is "completely undermining" the U.S. war against terrorism.
"I think it's incumbent upon all of us to demand to know her ties with people like Alamoudi," Kent said.
"If she had any shred of integrity, which I don't think she has, she'd repudiate these people," he added.
On April 12, Kent wrote Rep. Joel Hefley, R-Colo., chairman of the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, and Rep. Howard Berman, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the committee, requesting formal sanctions against McKinney for her comments during an interview with a radio station in Berkeley, Calif.
"We believe that her statements warrant an investigation by the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, specifically, that her statements appear to violate Rule 43 of the Code of Official Conduct, Rules of the House of Representatives, Adopted by 105th Congress, namely, 'a member, officer, or employee of the House of Representatives shall conduct himself at all times in a manner which shall reflect creditably on the House of Representatives,'" Kent wrote on behalf of SLF.
During the interview, McKinney called for an investigation into whether President Bush and other government officials had advance notice of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11th," McKinney claimed. "What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11th? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? What do they have to hide?
"Persons close to this administration are poised to make huge profits off America's new war," she charged.
After being confronted by the media, McKinney issued a statement "clarifying" her remarks.
'I Am Not Aware'
"I am not aware of any evidence showing that President Bush or members of his administration have personally profited from the attacks of 9-11," she said. "A complete investigation might reveal that to be the case."
SLF called McKinney's comments "shameful ... unethical and dangerous."
"For perceived political gain, McKinney has dishonored the U.S. House and her constituents by alleging high treason, and has undermined the sense of the U.S. House in its clearly stated efforts to support and defend the actions of this government in its prosecution of the war on terrorism," Kent wrote.
Under Investigation for Breaking Election Law
In addition to any action the House might take against her, McKinney is under investigation for at least six counts of alleged election law violations stemming from her purported activities in a voting precinct in DeKalb County, Ga., on Election Day 2000.
An administrative law judge will hear charges that McKinney "invaded" a polling place during polling hours, harassed and intimated poll watchers, and directly solicited votes while there.
The Georgia State Board of Elections has voted unanimously twice to recommend action by the state on all six counts.
Kent doubts McKinney will acknowledge any wrongdoing in accepting donations from supporters of terrorist organizations.
"I'm wondering if she's going to give the money back," he asked rhetorically. "But I know she won't."
