Tell us about the name, common or rare in France?

Pronounced as it looks in English? (2 syllables: Thigh (like the upper part of the leg) + bault rhymes with vault (bank vault).

I believe it's pronounced "Theevault" (just don't stress the "L")

Thibault is pronounced TeeBo (forget the fist H and the LT they are here just to confuse the English reader ;))


concerning frequency as said in http://www.prenom.com
(nternet is a wonderfull tool !)

it has been given 35.250 time  between 1900  and 2000 in France
it's in the 166th rank of given surname for the 20th century
it was ranked 50 for 2000
it's midly frequent and becoming rare

I'm astonished by all the information this site can give :eek: :eek: :eek:
