Hi folks.
I'm having a major problem with screen freezes. My game will suddenly lock up. It requires me to kill the power to the 'puter to get out of it. This happens several times per night.
Here are my specs:
WinME
PIII 1Ghz
384 Mg Ram
TNT2 Pro 32Mg vid card (version .2832)
Conexant Audio Card (no updates available)
DirectX 8.0 (Have been reading that 8.1 will quag you up)
I would realy appreciate any help you folks can give me. I love the game, but these screen freezes sure are frustrating.

I take it that the sound card is on the motherboard? If so, that is probably the source of the problem.
AH will not run without a sound card, so if can borrow one from someone and try it, I think your problem will be solved.

Skuzzy,
So you are saying I should buy a stand-alone sound card. Like a Sound Blaster Audigy?

Well i dont have an onboard sound card and AH is succesfully locking my comp as well.
Got kicked from the Tod on Sat and not allowed to reup, I was in an extremely foul mood.
One thing i have noticed it only happens after i have been web browsing, if i start the comp up and go straight into AH then its ok.

I noticed weird lockups also after I installed an old Geforce2MX in (had to return the GF3 for warranty)
With the gf3 there were never lockups, especially not the kind that require a hard boot of the computer.

I think since 1.03 my pc has locked up in AH 1-2x.. using GF2MX...

Hi Cav
What system are you using? I've just upgraded to XP and I'm having the same sort of problem especially the browsing issue. Have you had any success in rectifying your problem?

Thanks Aurelius, I'll try out some of the other Detonator Drivers. BTW my 'phone card' ran out of credit but thanks again for the help! :)
