Please Help!! I bought a SideWinder Precesion control joystick, but I cannot get bombers to take off. Everything else works, i can fly fighters and tanks, etc, but the bombers never work. I mapped all 4 throttle events to my throttle stick. I noticed when I am in the bombers only 3/4 engines come on, and when I switch the throttle only 1/4 engine come on. What am I doing wrong?

Did you hit SHIFT+E to "select all engines" ?
-
It did not work. I still cannot get a bomber airborne.
-
just map one throttle to stick slider...

Ok that worked. Now I have another problem. I get off the groud but then I crash. The plane (Lanc) just tilts to the left and crashes. As soon as I take off I hot the "W" key twice.

Nice name BTW

Hi, just a few thoughts on your problem..
It sounds (from your description) as if you are stalling..
If you raise your flaps too early you will stall.. Flaps generate more lift so that the aircrafts wings will "fly" at a lower speed.
Try, either leaving the flaps in the original position, or only raising them one notch..This should keep the wings within the "Flying/Not Flying" envelope..
Another thing which might help.. Make sure you have a really long and clear takeoff run.. Once your wheels lift off the ground, stay in "Ground Effect"...Let me explain:
During takeoffs and landings, when you are flying very close to the surface, the ground alters the three-dimensional airflow pattern around the airplane.
Ok. Rather than go in to great detail, here are 3 points to remember about "Ground Effect"
1. An Aircraft is usually in ground effect when it is less than the height of the aircrafts wingspan above the surface.
(Find out the wingspan of your aircraft and stay just under a wingspan above the surface)
2. Ground Effect reduces induced angle of attack and induced drag.
(You get more "bang" for your buck.:D )
3. Ground Effect allows an aircraft to become airborne before it reaches takeoff speed.
(This is the important bit)
I have used this method( in real life) to take off from grass fields with a "very slightly" overloaded aircraft.:D
Hope this helps
Cheers

If you have "auto-takeoff" enabled, then you should have no problem. Just roll down the runway and let it do its own thing, provided there are no hills or mountains in your direct take-off path. Once you have some decent altitute, then take over the stick, but you will have to be gentle with the climb. When gaining alt in a bomber, you have to be PATIENT !!!
If you don't have "auto-takeoff" enabled, and after take off, you switch to "auto-climb" (alt-X), without decent speed and alt, the nose will drop like a rock and you will quickly become a lawn dart.

reduce the fuel loadout.
it is rarely needed to take more than 50% fuel and for most missions 25% is enough.
taking off in a fully loaded lanc with 100% fuel is really hard and you need a lot of clear space in front.

For lanc with 50% fuel I raise flaps all the way and let autotakeoff do its job. once i have a few k of alt then i turn.

I use auto take off for those big nasties.... in setup under flight
I think pulls up a box that lets you choose auto take off - tracers etc.. put her on auto and let the comp. do the work till its up to a workable speed/height...
