OK, what is it exactly:D
-
Ugly
-
Another Frikin Spitfire
-
Spitfire yes, but Mk and year?
-
Don't hate them because they're beautiful .
-
Hehehe, I am a Luftwaffe freak, I HAVE to say they are ugly.
-
Its not a real spitfire, looks like some sort of reproduction.
-
Seafire of some kind.
-
I dont care what it is. To me it's FAIR game.:p
-
mk1 ....year about 1975.:D
-
A final hint:D
-
These are spitfire replicas in 80% scale with ford 3.8 litre engine.
The factory is in Brisbane, australia
THe Model on the picture is the latest MK26 Model.
Link to factory (http://www.supermarineaircraft.com/PictureGallery/picturegallery.htm)
:D :D :D :p
-
Correct:)
Actually, I thought these had the Jabiru 6 litre engine.
Can you tell me some more about the ford engine?
-
I remember some guy (Brit?) made also a Spit-replica about 10 years ago but he did use Jaguar's V-12.
hmm not sure if it was this one: http://www.aaib.dtlr.gov.uk/bulletin/mar98/gbrdv.htm

Ford 3.8 litre engine :p:p:p that spit must be toy...
FW 190 A8/N got 42 litre, 1900 hp direct fuel injected engine :D

I had the first info from their page. After i typed this thread i read bout the 6 ltr engine. But i guess thats a brand new. I am pretty sure thze early models flew with the 3.8 ltr.
Yea it is a toy. But where u get a FW ?
Will be pretty hard. Is their any model still flyable ? I guess not but they have replicas too. And they havent more power.
-
Heh they sure have more power. Engine is AFAIR ASh-82 or something like that; closely related to those used in La-5/La-7

-
Hehehe, the pic that Zhivago posted is from a newly built 190 A8, uses a 1900hp russian 42 liter engine, now that's what i call "more power" ;)
Spit is just a small toy. that 190 A8 is for real men.
Also, there are some Fw 190's being restored to flying condition aswell as one Ta152.
-
Bahh to Luftwobble thread hijackers:p
I knew of those 190's, but at $ 525.000 they are out of range for most hobby/online pilots.
For one of those you could buy 10 of the sweet little spittys, or a 50% share in an ORIGINAL spit, say Mk 21......
-
I saw a site earlier; some guy in States did built a FW-190 in 2/3 scale or something like that.
edit: scale was 1/2; http://www.warfw190.homestead.com/
-
Wow, that must be the ugliest spit i ever saw!
-
Actually there is a new-build Mk IX Spitfire being put together by Harry Stenger in Florida. So far it's got just as much flying time as the 190-Ash82 hybrid, zero hours.
But really, there are plenty of flyable Spitfires which one could purchase given enough $$$. And you don't have to use a commie engine. :)
-
With enough $$$ I can get a 190 with the original engine aswell, need to restore it a bit though.
-
There are more easy-kits available including the Spit.
The only german plane there yet is the Fokker D-VII
