Title: Current CT a big success
Post by: Buzzbait on April 15, 2002, 03:00:41 PM
Salute to Nuttz and Setup CM

The Terrain is incredible, the plane matchup was well balanced, the bases and spawn points were close together and designed for action and the competition was intense.  :)

Tactics even matched the historical, with low level fighting as GV`s advanced to attack bases.  Some incredibly intense and dense furballs resulted, (20+) and yet sometimes I experienced long 1 on 1 battles with no one but myself and a single opponent fighting over the golden sands.

Never a dull moment though.  :)

We hit 60+ players this weekend, and never seemed to drop much below 30.

Anyone who wants a charge should try this one before it goes.   ;)

I've been enjoying it. It's given me a chance to fly some LW iron for once (I always join the side with least numbers, which is often LW).

I like the 20mm on the 190. I don't know why people harp on about them being under-powered, they seem very capable and remind of the Russian B-20s and ShVaks, ballistically.

Anyway, it's been a blast. :)

Agreed on "Best so far"...had a blast in there.  Spent 80% of my flying time in some wicked furballs.  Kind of a shame, because this is just what Lazs has/had (changes daily) wanted.

Spent Saturday night in there and had a helluva time in a G-2. The terrain is fantastic. Much easier on the FR than Stalingrad was for me at least. Great job Nuttz .

I'll be hangin here when I can.

Been flying lots of LW sorties lately, as they seem to be short by almost a 2-2.5:1 margin whenever I log on.
That said, hats off to NUTTZ for the terrain, and to the CT staff for the setup!  Freakin' fantastic, immersion is awesome, told one of my squaddies "Hell, I'm sweatin' lookin out at this desert, it looks too real!"
One thing I have noticed about the LW cannon, they are damn effective!  Flying the 190A5 and firing cannon only, I've taken down Spits just as easily and quickily as if I had Hispanos, used very few rounds to do it.

...That's a dirty little secret. Frankly I have often wondered what the fuss is about the LW cannon. I love the A5, and never pack more than 2x20mm.

Curious, I fly the Bf-110 with it's MG and Cannon in the CT. The MG's are worthless ( I'm a cannon dweeb) I flew the A-5 and the American swines POP. Are the 20's on the 110 and the A-5 the same 20's??? rate of fire and all? It seams the A-5's are much more leathal.
