Whenever I try to play Aces High I get 2 errors:
1. A device attached to the system is not functioning.
2. The ACESHIGH.EXE file is linked to missing export
DSOUND.DLL:12.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this so that I can play this game?

I'd try to reinstall directx8.1 for starters.

Oh, make sure that your soundcard is working normally also..
That error seems to point to directsound and that device not working is probably your soundcard.

Yes, It is because you do not have direct x 8.1 installed. You can get it here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=33790

I had that problem too, you gotta get directX 8.1... but for some reason I have to reinstall it every time I reboot to play AH...

Cajun,
Double click on my computer. Go to c:\program files\ HTC \ Aces High \ Settings. Right click once on a file and then Hit ctrl-a Right click on them, go to properties. See if you have the read only box checked. If you do uncheck it. If not let me know.
