I would like to see C47s able to be used for search and rescue of downed pilots. For example, allow a pilot to join a C47 that is d-002 or less and stopped.
I think it would also be nice to allow C47s to drop Ammo/Fuel/Supplies that a Tank/M16 could use for ORD/gas/repairs. This could create some really neat extended ground battles, particularly with a real low overcast cloud cover (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I do think in field repairs should be available.........even if a buddy has to drive a repair truck!

Does'nt the Tour of Duty scenario already have C47 rescues?
-
BBGun,
We did simulate a pilot pick up during TOD. Or at least we Buccaneers do this often. Fly the C-47 to the downed pilot and land. Taxi up to the downed pilot who has either bailed out and landed or bellied in and then "bailed". The downed pilot then types ".ef" and immediately ".join xxx", where "xxx" is the handle of the rescuing pilot. The C-47 takes off and returns the pilot to safety. Seems kind of silly, but it can get VERY exciting, especially if bandits are in the area looking for you. A friendly rescue CAP helps.

Yes we do in GMT TOD, a new feature is that you can also pick up downed pilots in M16's (Or capture enemy downed pilots)

One important note:
On the Buccaneer C47 runs, the pilot would actually be captured when .ef is entered (for gameplay). Then he joins as gunner.
It would be more gratifying to be rescued and get the you have landed successfuly message.
My thoughts anyway.
