When you fire up Aces High, you'll see the caption change from version to version occasionally...could it be that this version was a tribute to 9/11?
"Flight 93 has taken on special meaning as the only one of the four planes hijacked Sept. 11 that took no lives on the ground. There is evidence passengers fought back after one cried, "Let's roll!"
-
I always thought it was .. didn't remember seeing it til after 9/11
-
Not to hi-jack my own thread, but Eagler, get your bellybutton booked for the con! Love to meet ya! :)
-
Feel like I already know ya! Scary eh ? :)
Gonna try, dunno though had to burn alot of PTO up early this year, we'll see
-
Whatever happened to "Pizza's here, gotta go!" ?
:)

Having recently visited http://tfarchive.com to see what I've been missing, I was reminded more of Optimus Prime. I doubt that the folks at HTC have been watching/reading Transformers in any great amount, so I'll have to admit that Ripsnort's version is probably closer to the truth.
-
Anyone remember "Transformers"? Optimus Prime used to say "Lets Roll!".... but of course it'll more likely to do with the 9/11
Regards

Optimus used to say, "Autobots! Roll out!" ...ah, that takes me back....
Yes, it is a reference to 9-11. ;)

Anyone remember 'Thundercats'?
Or 'He-man'?
Or 'Ulysses' (can't remember the whole title)?

"Let's Roll!" is in reference to a Neil Young song(on his latest cd)..It is about the passengers that fought back(in english) against the terrorist prettythangholes(who screamed in Arabic) on the CVR tape, released yesterday to the family's of the victims.

"You may fire when ready, Gridley."
--Commodore George Dewey, 1 May 1898, at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The American squadron entered Manila Bay and took fire from the Spanish fleet, anchored under the guns of Cavite, for half an hour until in the position Dewey wanted. Then Dewey addressed his order to Charles Gridley, captain of Dewey's flagship Olympia.

Battle of the Planets....is that the G-Force gang?
The one where the ship *somehow* turns into a flaming phoenix an saves the day?
That show use to drive me nuts as a kid, even I understood SOME aerodynamics when watching these...the "commander" would join up with the main ship in his little fighter. Now, at supersonic speed, he tucks in BEHIND the ship (HELLO? Wake Turbulence? Shock Waves?)....LOWERS his LANDING GEAR and lands on the ship...
I dunno...the list of cartoons I liked growing up is pretty long. Sadly, Casey Casums voice is in most of them :)

Yep, that's the one! It was originally called 'Gatchaman' in Japan and then made into G-Force. It was then re-edited with a R2-D2 like robot at the beginning and redubbed into 'Battle of the Planets'! Apparently Voltan of Spectra was a transvestite, well, in the true Japanese version he, er it, was! :)
