The problem will be the new LVT A4.
You sneak with your fleet behind the lines and park it in front of a field.
There will be no bar or dot on the map warning or alerting the other side.
You take one armoured LVT with this nice howitzer blowing the ack to hell.
And still there is no dot or bar on the map, because most times enemy gv aren't shown.
It will be a joyride straight to the maproom.
I'm afraid, that in times when few people are in the MA, this would happen far to often.
(oops my english left me (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif))
I suggest a radius of 10 miles around a field where all fleets are visible!

Bardar will give it away. Consistently.

Enemy vehicles show up on the radar bar EVERY time... provided that country's dar is up. In addition, the fleet will show up if anyone is silly enough to hop into a ship gunner position.
Basically, the fleet can sneak wherever it wants... but the second you try to launch from it, your position is given away.

Get rid of ptboat and LVT icons. Just like the GV's.

Up to now one single dot was no thread to a field.
If you have to decide to help a field with one dot but no bar or a field under siege of several opponents, you would always go for the bigger furball.
A C47 or a M16 is not able to clear a field.
A LVT with a big gun could make it alone.
I don't think that we need "Rambo".
The diversion between fighting vehicles and goons is a good feature of the game.
TMO we should stay to it.

Why not Rambo? I sure would like to do a Rambo commando mission now and then (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Kill all in-plane radar. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

HT was online the other day and he said that he is thinking about adding shore based artillery batteries. So if you try to sneak your fleet in real close, you'd better hope no one decides to man those shore batteries at the last minute. Ducks in a barrel...

Now THAT is a good idea!

Agreed, great idea.
Tof, 1 square in the corner of the sector (Bar dar) can represent up to 5 aircraft. So, IMO, 1 square behind the front lines IS a threat.

I posted an idea in the Game Play forum about having a shipboard radar on/off button for the task group (TG) commander. If he turns a fleet's radar on, the TG icon appears on the map to friend and foe alike. If he turns the fleet's radar off, the icon doesn't appear, but he gets no local radar (as when a field radar is destroyed). This would add risk to trying to sneak up on an enemy base with your radar off. Then, as soon as someone spawns an aircraft, PT, or LVT, the radar bar will alert the defenders that something is going down in that sector.
