S! All
For all those who love the Perk planes, and never get enough of an opportunity to fly them... :)
>>>>>>
Background: On December 5, 1941, a Fw200 Kondor lifts off from a military airfield just outside Berlin. On board is Adolph Hitler and some of his key staff, starting an impromptu tour of some of the newly conquered territories. At their first stop on the trip, wind-shear causes the Kondor’s pilot to set the aircraft down hard. The endemic weakness of the Fw200’s fuselage results in the aircraft breaking up, killing almost everyone on board…almost everyone.
The German dictator miraculously survives, but is in a coma for the next three weeks, and spends another two months recovering. Two days after the accident, the Japanese attack’s the United States. Because Hitler is in a coma, Germany does NOT declare war on the United States. As a result, President Roosevelt is able to garner support in Congress for a US declaration of war against Japan, but not against Germany. Without a second front to support, the US buries the Empire of Japan under the weight of America’s industrial might. By late June of 1944, Japan is hanging on the ropes; the US gears up for an invasion of the Japanese islands.
In the mean time, Germany has consolidated its hold over Europe. They offer England an armistice which ‘guarantees’ British autonomy, in exchange for non-interference on the continent. Without the active support of the United States (US Lend-Lease support continues, but with a “Japan, first” policy in effect), Churchill is forced by domestic pressure to accept. This leaves Germany free to launch Operation Barbarossa unhindered by interference from the West. Germany quickly takes over the better half of Western Russia, including Moscow, forcing Stalin to move his government East of the Urals.
After consolidating his gains, Hitler again turns his eye westward. The lack of an air threat to Germany has allowed the Luftwaffe to complete a new weapons development cycle unhindered by constant bombardment. Additionally, the aircraft carrier GRAF ZEPPELIN, as well as a second one, the ADOLF HITLER, have been completed. Because defense of the Reich is not a driving factor, Hitler orders that the production of jet powered bombers be given priority. The German despot recognizes that Japan is about to be knocked out of the war, at which point the USA will be free to significantly increase aid to Great Britain. Hitler decides the window of opportunity to destroy England once and for all is closing fast. He orders full-scale preparations for the aerial bombardment and subsequent invasion of the British Isles to commence. Operation Sea Lion is a go. The stage is set for the second Battle of Britain!

The Setup will give a bit of an advantage to the British until players build up a few perks. Then as the Me262`s come into action, the Germans will start to have an edge. The fact that the Arado is unperked will also give the British side fits... ;)
The Scenario will give players an opportunity to see how the `Monsters` match up against each other. Massed Furballs at 25,000 with Spit XIV`s versus TA-152H`s will be a possibility...
:D :D

Looks like fun Buzz. But why no P-47?

Sounds like a great set up!

you have the f4u-d in there why not the perked version instead? What was called f4u-4 i think?
-
Add the m16 to the axis orbat.

The reason there is no P-47 is that it was not used much, if at all by the British in Europe. Also, unlike the Mustang, it had no British Design input. I guess I could include it anyway, since the only guys likely to use it are the VERY talented Jug flyers like yourself. And it won`t be imbalancing.
The reason the F4U-4 is not there is that it would imbalance the Carrier aircraft available. It also wasn`t ever used by the British as far as I know. It also was late `45 plane, and this Setup is June/July `44. If it was set in a Hypothetical `45, then it is likely the 262 would be available in much larger numbers and therefore would`nt be perked and therefore would imbalance the Setup.
The reason the Ostwind is on the Brit side is that they had numerous 40mm Bofors tracked AA. On the other hand, the Germans never had a .50 cal quad setup, or even a 13mm Quad setup.

Crusader II AA Mk I:
British 40mm Boffors AA tank, to name but one type.

I know that picture.. :)
It`s a test aircraft. You can tell because there are no Squadron markings.
You have to go to Burma and the Brit Squadrons based there to get the P-47D in large scale service.
But I have given you the D-25 anyway if you look back at the OOB. :)
-
Ohhh this sounds sweet!:D
-
The Germans had masses of light cannon armed half tracks..far more commonly used then the m16 was in allied forces.
These are not represented at all and are much more equivelent to a m16 in game terms then an ostwind is.
Bofors armed tanks were very rare indeed in allied service.
You would be far more historically correct in giving the axis a light aa vehicle then you are giving the allies a heavy cannon one.

Ok, I'm new to these sorts of things. What do I need to do to get in on the action? Just go to the CT arena or do I need to check in with someone, or what?
-
So basically you are saying that the British will own the fighter battle up to 35k with free tempests and Spit14s..... It will be hell for the german prop fighters to earn perks for the 262....
Everyone knows the CT is just a low alt furball arena and the british will kick bellybutton in it with the free tempest and SpitXIV....
What's the advantage gained by Germans because they nullified Britain? The tempest and Spit XIV should be perked too...
And why the hell no 190A8 on the CV?
Otherwise no thanks! Yet another allied biased scenarion.....

LOL. Um, 262's are 3 perks. 3. The 262's will rule in short order.
Sounds like fun tho, I'll give this a shot from both sides.

Grun, After axis pilots have gotten a couple of kills they will be flying (and running unharmed) in their 262's. Allied Bias? I dont think so.
-
I think Grunherz was only joking.
I'll try to fly this one.
-
Are the 262's going to be limited to the 3 or 4 bases that they were actually at during the war at that time ???
-
S!
I will not limit the bases for the 262 on the Continent. I may limit them on captured bases in Britain. They required longer runways and more support services. So may limit them to larger airfields.
-
Where's the 109G6? Please Buzzbait add the Bf109G6 it's a contemporary of the SpitIX. And yes there is a reason for it even with the G10.... :)
And really why no FW190A8 on the carriers, personally I think the A5 is better but many love the A8 as well?
-
S! Grunherz
Fine, I`ll add the A8 on CV`s, and the G6 on land. Although for CV protection I think the A5 is a way better plane. Much more effective at low levels.
-
Yea! :) Thanks Buzzbait.
-
Please Buzz please gimie some ice-cream, and uh...uh.....candy.and uh....Ummm........190's and uh................the new "Yellow Mega-Man action figure" and uh...........uh..........a chicken pot pie. please.please..
