So, I was watching NOVA on PBS yesterday afternoon and saw a couple of re-runs on submarines both of today and yesterday era. And I got this bug inside me to go pokin around in a U-boat. At what point in time does AH plan on including these? Other than 2 weeks, all you smart-*sses Also to combat these new additions will we also be able to take command of a Destroyer or will you have to hunt with the existing PT-boats?

 Make mine a type IX please...

Nobody knows at the moment, even HT might not know. In an interview some months ago HT mentioned including U-boats/Submarines. How it will be done, when it will be done we don't know, personally i hope very soon, hopefully the version after the new bomber stuff has been added but I wouldn't bet on it.

the sub thing was going around for a while... not sure it's still otw.
someone said that subs would 'spawn' near the action then you could take control...

I bet we will see FPS using troops before you will see submairines.  The ground war isnt all that grand for Aces high i think that needs to be worked on first...

This picks is showing  type XXI boat during trials at sea, maybe this boat is U-2511 :D
Max speed is 18 mph submerged and 20 mph surfaced
Max depth about 280 m (919 feet)
Armament: 23 torpedoes at bow ;)

I used to visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago as a kid, and always made a beeline to the U-505. You could walk through the boat and get a real feel for the cramped quarters. Is it still there? I last saw it back in about 1971.

If you ever get a chance, go visit the U-boat pens at St. Nazaire. They have a U-boat you can walk through, if I remember rightly (I was a kid at the time).
