saw that yesterday on IGN.com and my mouth droped! :eek:

I cant wait!! i love tron, and this would be a great multiplayer game!

Did anybody go see the movie? I did. :eek: What was it about? All I remeber is puter generated motorcycles making 90 degree turns. :)

I'm still waiting for Pong 2k2 myself, I can only imagine what modern graphics will do for that franchise :)

What was it all about?  Well if I remember correctly it was about a character called Flynn (Jeff Bridges).  He developed loads of computer games for his company but the company director Dillinger/Sark (David Warner?) had stolen Flynn's programs to get where he is today.  

Bruce Boxleitner (can't remember his RL characters name) designs a program called 'Tron' to infiltrate the Master Computer - see later.

Flynn attempts to gain access to the higher level of the Master Computer and ends up having a 'matter transfer laser' fire at him and put him into the Master Computer.  He then ends up 'playing' the games that he designed.  All the programs eventually realise he is infact a 'User' and help him, including the program Tron (Bruce Boxleitner).  He eventually confronts Sark (Dillinger/David Warner) and defeats him within the Master Computer.  The game rights then revert to Flynn and he now receives the credit for designing the games.  Dillinger is finished!  :)

Yeah, quite a good film, excellent sound track and remember that this was leading stuff by Walt Disney.  Good games and good film! :)

And it was such a huge failure that Disney dropped the idea of computer graphics for film. It wasn't until Toy Story they got going on that side again. (Made by Pixar, but financed by Disney).

Universal and Lorimar had some success with The Last Starfighter (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0087597)  in between the two. They tried the same thing, computer graphics merged with live action. I'm not sure if that movie was a commercial success or not???
