If they build it....
Surely they have to know it would sell....
GPL is still being sold to this day, surely it must hold some sort of record for longevity.

While it may still be selling to this day, 1 copy every few months hardly denotes enough interest to convince a leery game company that they wouldn't just be wasting $$$.
It is a hugely popular game in a tiny niche of hard core racing sim drivers (of which I'm one.) But it never sold anywhere near enough numbers to warrant a sequal. If it had, there'd be one already.
Sure, I'd buy a GPL2. I'll sign the petition. But I'd sure rather see many of the other exciting racing series & eras simmed first.
IMO the cancellation of "Trans Am Racing '68 - '72" is the most disappointing thing to ever happen in the world of computer gaming.
8) How many cars and tracks will be in the game? Name a few.
There's 12 tracks and 25+ cars (we'll cram in as many as we can). Cars included are '64 Pontiac Tempest GTO, '67 Ford Mustang, '68 Chevy Camaro, '69 Chevy Camaro, '69 Ford Mustang, '70 AMC Javelin, '70 Ford Mustang, '70 Dodge Challenger, '70 Plymouth Barracuda, '70 Pontiac Firebird, '70 Chevy Camaro, '72 AMC Javelin. Tracks included in the game are Lime Rock Park, Road America, Meadowdale, Riverside, Bridgehampton, Donneybrooke, Mosport, and others.
