Title: Hitting figters with biggest naval guns a possibility?

Does anyone know if you can take out fighters with the biggest naval guns. I mean it would be like shooting a pea at a fly on the moon but would it be technically possible?

I've taken hits from both 40mm and 5" AA fire. And I've got plenty of experience shooting up drones in H2H using the twin 5" guns. Once you get the hang of it you can hit guys using the HE shells!

Japanese had a shot gun round for the 18.1" that was specifically for anti air IIRC.
Other then that its even less likely then with the main armement of a panzer. Which is pretty unlikly

I have hit tanks and PT boats with the main guns on the cruiser, but I have not yet hit an aircraft.  I have tried though.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I shot down a B-26 with panzer main gun while it was vulching a field with guns, It flew low over field and began to climb, right when it hit a stall i fire and BOOM!

to stupid to recored it though...what were the odds?

I think he is talkin about the 8" guns. Am sure it will kill an A/C if it hits one.

As for Panzer gun, ive removed the wings and had direct hits on engine cowling of many a f4u, Spit La5 N1K2 and a low b17.

You guys remember before they made the tank sight smaller how easy it was to use the tank gun as an AA gun.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)  I think I had some 6 or 7 kill missions shooting planes trying to strafe me.  (That was back in 1.02.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) )
