Those added for you and those added for others. If you like a particular plane addition, it is meant for you. If you don’t like a particular plane addition, it is meant for others. Unless you’re a pretty easy going person, not every plane will be for you. That’s why there’s so many of them to choose from and more on the way all the time. Don’t begrudge others because you don’t always get what you want.
I choose the planes that we add in every version. It’s a balancing act between what is needed for this and what is needed for that and what is needed for now and what is needed for later. It’s not done by committee and not all things are added for the same reasons. Nor are they added with the thought process that AH gameplay and setup is static. AH is expanding but expansion is not an overnight process. Some people argue that there’s not much to do with early war planes so why do them. I see it from the opposite side that there’s not much to do with them until you have enough of them to do something with. That's not something we wake up to find on our hard drives Christmas morning, it's a lot of work and time done in increments.
In the previous game I worked on, I stewarded the implementation of about 60 planes or so and now I’m going into the 70’s here. Of all of those, I don’t recall ever putting something in where someone didn’t complain that it wasn’t what they wanted. I must be making some terrible decisions because in over a hundred tries, I still haven’t found a single plane that all people unanimously want over everything else. People always act like it's real obvious, but it never works out that way for some reason.
It is a given that there will always be somebody to pooh-pooh whatever addition is announced. Big deal, why make it into a hubbub? To me, these threads get to be like watching a latino soap opera on telemundo- overly dramatic and incomprehensible. Why is it that somebody pooh-poohing a new plane seems like a bigger deal than the new plane itself?

The only true constant I think is that their will always be sweetying on this subject, In a way it is a good thing it shows that we are all impashioned about this hobby of ours, that we all look forward to the next plane and all have planes we would like to see added,Hopefully we will never be truly satisifyed with the plane set and will always want more...
Having said that we must remember that HTC is doing good stuff here and that I for one am always happy to see a new toy wheather or not I am truly happy about it is beside the point overall it is good for the game and envariably good for all of us.

Nice speling(sic), HiTech :D
Hobby my butt. I'm building a USB keyboard emulator and a few latching circuits so I will have an external control panel to execute keyboard commands. Eventually it'll go in the cockpit I'll build after I buy my house. Got the electronics debugged last night, ordered the chassis today, probibly get the switches ($5.25 each...OUCH!) after everything is ready to build.
I'll still use the KB for typing messages, but all the commands will be HOTAS or on the panel :)
Aces High; it's a way of life.

With each plane/vehicle/feature added to AH, the value added to the package the customer receives grows. The choices for those additions will not please everyone. "Life's a squeak, then you die".
You guys in the art department are doing an outstanding job. The artwork improves with each new plane that is added.
I'm not sure what the overall numbers of the customer base is. But take that number into account when a paltry few whine about what is chosen to introduced next.
Keep up the good work!:D

Never complain about what you get, everything new is great no matter it's early, late, mid, allied or axis, ship or veichle or plane.

Brady, I completely agree. Quite honestly, I look at every new aircraft as something special. A surprise, if you will. About 3 months ago several lists of wanted aircraft were posted to the BBS by different users. If people took a look at those lists, they would see that HTC has added a considerable number of those on the lists.
My regards,
Widewing

Brady--
with all the respect due, sweetying is not the best way to show our "impashioned":) about this game. You could just say "WTG HTC! Awesome job on the graphics, can't wait to see what comes next!!".
I know it would go against the grain. It would pain alot of people to be optimistic, and supporting..rather than complaining and nuerotic;)

Honestly Pyro, I appreciate you taking the time and explaining yourself here on this matter but I really dont think you needed to.
Above all else you guys have been doing this for quite a few years and have been in at least three different gaming communities over those years. You folks know as best as any what takes place on a community board like this and from my experience I dont really see why you guys are riled up. The perceived obnoxiousness of a few on this board regarding the addition of early war planes is at best merely annoying but certainly not, I feel at least, beyond what has been, and is, and can be expected in the future, as normalcy in these matters.
Add whatever planes you deem appropriate because thats what has gotten you to this point and thats a good thing as far as I can see.
I will give you this however, there are definately some very narrow minded people that visit this company owned and operated BBS so I guess trying to have a dialogue with them is understandable.
In any event, bring in a SB2C and a P61B.

" It’s not done by committee "
Thank you Pyro.....
-
So Pyro you like Fw190A3 and early US painted P39 much? Ill be happy if you add either one....
Frankly I''m shocked why people some were so upset and whiney over the Val, it was a vital bomber for the IJN during the early Pac war and belongs in this release.

Well said!
I welcome any plane AH adds, the more the better :) I have been pleased with almost every plane AH has added. And I have been enjoying all the early war planes lately. I would also like to see some biplanes when ever htc thinks its time to add them :D.
I think you're doing a very good job on plane set and keep it up!

Amen brother! Preach it!
Bring the WIDOW to AH! The day is coming brothers, when we'll be able to strap on our -61C's and wreak havoc in the night skies!

Two kinds of planes Pyro? Hell I reckon all but 2 were added for me then. Can't say I care one wit about the n1k or lame7 :D
I like seeing any new kites. Try'em out for the first couple of weeks then get back in the pony and go kill'em :D More kites means (hopefully) more variety in targets :D

OK, a Do 335 for me and F4F for them. How about that ? ;)

SUPERFLY told me the same thing. So I had to send him two cases (24 bottles that is) of good Chianti red wine to get the G.55 and SM79 modeled. Hmmmmm ....

Well spoken, Pyro.
The Internet really encourages people to cry out about anything and everything. When you get their favourite hobby into the mix, then everyone has an opinion. :)
Stick to your planned ingredients, you've had an excellent recipe so far!

Right, not to mention a lot of hand gesticulation. My second home is in Italy, so I can get away with saying that!

LOL!!

Well, having started my online flying career off in a sim-that-shall-be-nameless, I can say that there are in fact only two kinds of plane additions: those that are promised to be added at some unspecified time in the distant future, and those that are actually added.
Any new planes are welcome, whether they are my personal favorites or not. Keep up the good work, and a single raised digit to all the whinebabies.
-
Pyro
Keep more planes coming, I can honestly say that there isn't a plane in AH that I don't like. 2 of my favorite rides are in the next release the FM-2 and the D3A1 (great little dogfighter :) )
Keep up the great work and

He musta picked it up during his years in Colorado. I know heem for long time! But that don't necessarily make him . . . . . . . right. :p

I know it's trying to correct one thing in a million said here, but actually, it's "Caramba", not Carumba. :)
Dunno about mexico, here we use it sparingly, and without the "Ay".

Pyro the reason people whine about the plane choices is because they are trying to bait you to let off an epic blast like you just did. For a certain diseased portion of the community, the BBS wars are more entertaining than the game itself. :)
