Digging through some stuff at dad's house, found this one.
Probably at Nadzab with the 345th BG/501st Sqd.
Some of you have seen his posts here as "Panther".
-
...and here's one of him before his first solo in the PT-19 taken at Uvalde, TX. Late 1942 I think.
-
He's been married to this girl for nearly 60 years now......

Great pics Toad! That middle one is pretty funny too, just the sheer sterotypical "1930's Aviator" getup. :)
-
Toad, your dad has great taste in women. :)
-
Agreed, looks like he knew a keeper when he saw one. :)
-
Great photo's Toad, ask Panther if he could hike his pants up to the nipple, it doesn't quite look right without going ALL the way up in the 2nd photo ;)
-
Rip,
I think that's an AN-S-31 flight suit. It's one of the early ones. The belt fell where ever it fell, depending upon your torso length.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty fond of his wife myself. :)
I ought to post the one in her wedding dress! She's a Babe-ette.
-
Here's the smiling aviator the day he got his wings in San Antonio.
-
Toad, cool pics. Ask him if that S.A. pic was taken at Ave. C; the building behind him looks like the current musem at Lackland.

Great topic and pictures Toad.
Thanks very much!
