oh my! not a very good idea......BISH gonna reset maps everyday now with those numbers.
I can see the future....120 bish 50 knights 60 rooks
ndisle map will last just about half a day.
HiTech can you do anything about balancing the numbers in the arena....knights rooks exchange squads to try and balance numbers but bish always have numbers. At least some of us try too balance it, unlike many bishes i know. I'm starting to hear alot of 'oh no this watermelon again' everytime a squad member or friend comes in the arena(and like everyday, bish about to reset).
You get the picture.:p

Yeah SLO the whole thing is just getting out of hand.
My squad has had similar reactions, not least from me.
It seems that many players get attracted by seemingly easy gangbang kills of the bigger country, even if the reality often is reverse with bish being target drones for the superior skilled enemy :p
I've been ranting about this for a long time now.. I don't understand why so many bish players can't see that balanced sides offers balanced gameplay for all. It's ok to have majority sometimes but when it's constant it gets boring.
I've got tons of comments like 'we dont like balanced gameplay like you, we pay our $$ and play like we want'
So they admit they're in for gangbanging and depend on the situation with numbers.. A playerbase like that can be hard to persuade into making the game playable for other countries also.
They're probably the same people who at school were mobbing the unpopular students in a group instead of stepping up and defending him. The moral is similar also here even though it's just a game. I'm sure however that many knight and rook players would prefer to have an even opportunity of winning at least sometimes.

I am a Bishop, and have been a Bishop since the day I came here with my Squad. I am of the opinion that if you choose a side, you stick to it throughout good times and bad. Sometimes we are the side at a disadvantage, other times we have the numbers - and this is true of all countries at various times! How can there be any kind of country loyalty if a squad keeps changing it's affiliation? We have never been into switching countries "to balance" the numbers, and I don't think we are likely to start now.... if that's the way some squads operate, that is up to them, but it is wrong to expect every squad to do the same. In AW, the Kraits were always Cz, and in the same way, in AH we will always be Bishops.... at least if we ever do change in the future, it would be after a full discussion and vote on the matter, but I certainly don't forsee it happening. :p

Here, here Flossy!
The Nightmares are the same way .. we fly Rooks and only Rooks and realize there will be times that we Rooks get kicked around like an old can do to be out numbered and then where will times that we reset the map 3 times in 4 days (happened earlier in the month).
The only thing about numbers and who is on top is that things change .. some hours are better than others, some days better than others .. and give it several weeks and things change as people can't fly as much or can fly more depending on their real life situation.

One of the basic problems seems to be that US timezone players see a different balance compared to EU zone. The situation fluctuates and causes diff. timezone players to see different numbers on constant basis.
That's why there will always be opposing opinnions to imbalance claims - the situation probably IS different when we sleep, you sleep etc. That doesn't change the basic setup though.
-
One of the biggest problems is lamerswho switch sides when it becomes obvious their team is going to lose the war. Then that just snowballs the imbalance. I notice this most often when Bish is losing. Teams will be roughly even (normally when bish starts losing) and then as Bish gets closer and closer to losing the war, they have more and more guys who leave, switch teams to the winning team, etc.
Another huge problem with the team imbalance is that the maps are designed in such a way as to lend major advantage to the people with numbers. The Mindanao map is horrible for that purpose. Bases are extremely close together, there are almost zero GV attacks allowed, and this combines to add even more advantage to teams with high numbers because they can just overwhelm you no matter how well you fight them off.

yes! well yes to some of it...anyways i wonder if HTC would consider 2 sides instead of 3 or maybe increase it to 4 sides. think 2 sides would be best though.

Flossy...
CZ is knights btw

what's a Cz? how many sides did that sim have? what sim was it AW right? which one is the old one WB or AW? ok enough questions, i'm out.

Does everyone really have to whine before its even implemented? We don't even know all the in's & outs of the new system yet and everyones whineing.
If its so bad, leave, take a break, go on AH vacation.
This could singlehanded be the single best feature
for a flight sim ever. Realistic bombsight calibration, realistic dispertion, true carpetbombing instead of pin point accuracy that was NOT realistic.
Ohh and 4 X as many targets!
What more do you guys want?
Reread Pyro's last news, Bombing is NOT going to be easy anymore. Its going to take some real work to get bombs on target.
You guys are all here flying Hitech's work. IMO he's probably the best flight sim builder ever. If he thinks this new bomber system is going to help gameplay I trust that he's right. Do you really think he'd build it if it would HURT gameplay?

The first whiner award goes to SLO
short cut to his story:
Even if we try work together with knit/rooks we can't beat the bish we suck and now i'm gonna cry.
great improvement on the bombers

Bug what you bish can't seem to grasp is that when a country has far superior numbers compared to others, the chance of winning is not equal anymore. Therefore even if the other side has superior players and would kick the larger country's bellybutton in a snap when 1:1 they will lose because odds are against them.
This is not exactly fair for the smaller countries if the situation continues like that for too long.
So the whine is not about 'we can't beat the bish' its about 'waaaaa bish are playing with an unfair large advantage in numbers constantly.'
Being outnumbered is cool and ok at times, it gives plenty of targets to kill. But at least I have grown bored with it when it has lasted for months. I would like nothing more than to see the situation shift even for 2 weeks so that bish would be at 20 players, knight at 30 and rooks at 50 which is the exact reverse of worst of what's been going on at MA for ages now. This would give the rook side an equal opportunity of scoring kills and resets compared to what bish have now.
Is this so hard to understand?
One thing I don't understand for sure is why so many players are attracted to the side which already has 2:1 advantage to others. In a situation like that fights are mostly cherrypicking where you take advantage of superior numbers - bounce the enemy chasing your friend and when in trouble run to the 10 friends waiting to bounce the one behind you.
If youre the smaller country, situation is that you find an enemy which you try to kill only to be bounced by another. You try to run but all you find is red icons all over.. A diving N1k or spit ends the hopeless fight promptly.
There's a small difference eh?
OTOH being outnumbered can be very much fun too. Especially when bish makes attacks from carriers.. It's very entertaining to pick them up plane by plane from above when they all fly low and loaded to strafe the field. Those sorties give easily 7-10 almost vulch-like kills even if I'm fighting them practically alone.

Skurj - that is absolute rubbish! This is a totally separate game with its own countries and has no bearing on what the countries were in AW! Apart from the fact there are players in the MA from both RR and FR in AW, there are a mixture of players from all three countries, as well as both realisms, in all three countries here. Forget about Az, Bz and Cz - they belong to AW, and died along with the game. AH is Bishops, Rooks and Knights. Period. :p

Cz was one of the countries, along with Az and Bz, in Air Warrior, which had three sides in most arenas, except Axis/Allies which had historical aircraft setups, similar to the CT here. Not sure what you mean by "which one is the old one", but Air Warrior is the game which EA.com killed off, and therefore no longer exists. I loved AW as much as anybody else who played it, but some players seem to be stuck in the past and unable to let go and move on.

Oh believe me, I have seen exactly the same argument in AW many times! There, in FR at least and at the times I was online, it always seemed that either the Bz or Cz had the most numbers, and the Az had the least - though I believe this did change at different times of the day. Being in the UK, I am always online in the late afternoon/early evening US time. Sometimes we would come online to find the Cz dominating most of the map, and other times we would be down to two (uncapturable) bases! We didn't have a Winning the War type of game-play, so fighting back from two bases was quite challenging and fun. :D

But all my friendlies are green too!! And all you lot are red! :D Actually, although I was Cz in FR in AW, I was also Bz in RR.... so I am equally happy with whatever you see Bishland to be... :p

and I thought this was gonna be a post about the new buff formations.... it looks more like a country whine....
well Im curious about the formations .
If you lose some of the formation do u lose possiable perk points??? and what about landings ? if you land the lead buff do all the others land successfully to ??? or do you have to land each one ? and pin point bombing goes out the window and you just carpet bomb ??? well i guess ill have to wait for 1.10 and see for my self.
Ok back to your country whine ... (should of named this the whiners post)
-
well not all bombers will have the formation option but if the arado has it then yes you will lose perk points for each arado that is shot down hehee not a pretty thought. as for landing as long as you maintain formation with the other buffs (read the latest announcement) and they're still airworthy they'll all land no you don't have to land each one :) it's more akin to carpet bombing and craters will be dispersed no more straight lines again i refer you to the latest announcement :)
