And to tell you the truth I am not at all impressed by what I have seen.
Spent the first couple of days avoiding head on monsters and ignoring insults thrown in my direction.
Struggled to get used to the dweeby vulching tactics using laser guided weapons from which ever chess piece I was flying against. Saw guys in PT boats zooming up to fields near coasts and shooting down taking off aircraft, saw friendly PT boats then zoom up and destroy the enemies.
Every time I saw a Buff and attacked I got creamed even with a 500 MPH closure and a slashing attack.
The common channel is simply an extension of fox without the swear words bleeped, 6 calls are a pain in the a s s , saw guys planning missions and when you joined in it was all organised for you and you had to be responsible.
The strategy, well less said about that the better, people re-supplying fields etc when you are trying to take it.
Oh, and the Lancaster and the Tempest and the Typhoon and the B26 and loads of other aircraft where the heck did they come from then, they weren't in World War II were they ?
15 dollars a month for this ? they are having a tin bath aren't they ?
Well I guess that's about it, so long and thanks for all the fish.

you can't begin to appreciate this game in two weeks, took me two weeks to figure out how to take off :)

No, no of course not, Lancaster and typhoon never saw any action, the lancaster was not amongst RAF's main heavy night bombers, I think it's all made up :rolleyes:

No, he's right. The Lancaster never saw combat in ww2. It was just a propaganda plane created by the British to boost morale. The first one flew in 1946.

Actually, this isn't quite right. There was only ONE plane. The ministry of Aeronautic Propaganda had accidentally referred to the plane as a "Typhoon" in an initial release for dissemination in the Pacific theater. It was meant all along to be named "Tempest" but an Aussie Radio operator, who apparently hadn't read Shakespeare said "WTF is a Tempest?" and assumed that there had been a problem with the telegraph. Under the pressure of his deadline, he inserted "Typhoon" instead. After the war he was reported to have said "Who gives a @#%$ the @#%$# airplane didn't even exist!"

That thing on Fox they did about how the moon landing was a hoax.. I didn't watch it.. but I went to a huge party that weekend at another college... and no BS, there were people there talking about it and they actually beleived all of that stuff that was on a FOX show (for toejam's sakes) was true and we never landed on the moon... the only argument they could come up with was "it was on that show".
And this was from people who weren't even born until 20+ years after the first moon landing!
Some people, if you beat their head in with a baseball bat and told them they were really having a caffeine induced migraine... they would ask you for aspirin.

The game seems to be a bit tough for you. Thats understandable. I am sure Fighter Ace would probrably more to your pace.
Aces high doesnt really model ww2 aircraft. HT makes planes up. Planes they wish were in ww2.
The b26 was a made up plane to scare the germans. Dont believe anything on this website. They are basically still carring on the b26 lie.

The typhoon, regardless of what you may have read :

These are just made up fictious stories with no basis in reality.
The lancaster never existed either:
The first Royal Air Force squadron to re-equip with the Lancaster was No. 44 Squadron based at Waddington in December 1941. The squadron in fact had the received the first prototype BT308 on strength in September for crew training. But this one aircraft could hardly be considered a total re-equipment of an operational squadron. No. 44 Squadron also had the honour of launching the first Lancaster offensive sorties, these being against Essen on the night of 10/11 March 1942.

The Tempests is the biggest myth of all:
On April 14, 1945, two Hawker Tempests of 486 (New Zealand) Squadron took off from the Volkel airfield in Holland in order to attack the railway yards at Ludwigslust. As they initiated their low-level attack, three Ta 152s of Stab/JG 301 were scrambled against them from Neustadt-Glewe, five miles away. Within minutes, the German aircraft hurriedly fell upon the New Zealanders. Oberfeldwebel Sattler, flying in No. 3 position in the German formation, lost control over his new plane and crashed vertically into the ground. In the following dogfight at almost tree-top level, Sattler's comrade Oberfeldwebel Willi Reschke displayed the superior maneuverability of the Ta 152 by out-turning and shooting down the Tempest flown by Warrant Officer Mitchell, who had no chance to survive.
This was basically a Nazi propaganda lie. :)
All this was a bit sarcastic but you really ought to head to the library and read some books on ww2 aviation. Also most new folks to ah need a period of adjustment. What other ww2 air combat games have you played?

Also if you are getting vulched all the time try upping at a different field. Pt boats are easy as all heck to kill.
You know as part of "field capture strategy" is to knock out the ability for surrounding bases to resupply a field. Again I dont know what games you play or have played but most of your complaints have more to do with your "newness" to ah.

To an earlier poster, yes you are correct, it was free and I have had two weeks at no cost to myself, for this I give small mercys.
Not knocking your game guys, just my observations that's all.

You are the biggest Tool that I have come across in long time. If you are as ignorant as to participate in a WWII flight sim. and not have the BRAIN CELLS to know your "falsified planes", than I guess my grandfather didn't carry his dead buddy ashore at Okinawa and turn down a Purple Heart?! Thank you Sir William Stephenson at Bletchley Park for masterminding the biggest charade of all, WWII never really happened.

Is all that you said is really camoflauge for the fact that you couldn't leave your ego at the door for 2 weeks? You expected to come over from Brand X and rule in 2 days. Sorry but thats not the way it works.
It can take MONTHS to adjust to your former (not so hot) level of excellence. But thats ok, there's too many online now already.
Ace's High has a very steep intitial learning curve. No matter if you spent 16 years flying XXX.
Real sim pilots stick it out.

I did think the "PT Boats zoom up" comment was a nice touch.

I've been in for almost two months and have no need to EVER purchase a Flight sim, because I have found the best.
Thanks to all who may have helped along the way, and thank you AH for your sweat, blood, tears and whines. This is a great bunch of guys we have and I am proud to be a part of it. Once again, thanks to all.

are you some kind of a moron these were there any school child know about the lancaster and the b26 hell this is before the b29 and the b29 dropped the a-bombs on japan. and your supposed to spend a couple days in the TA to get used to it. and the 15 dollars a month thing... dont like it come to the hth and fight against 8 other people with no vulching allowed. the hth is basicly the place ot come if you dont like trying ot win a war (never made any sense to me anyway) and you just want to dogfight. (no i AM NOT the hth recruiter)

I meant your message claiming the original one was an attempt at humour - it certainly didn't look like humour to me and your explanation about the "tin bath" did not fool me into thinking otherwise. I know what the original intention of your using that expression was, and you were not saying "oh what a good bargain" as you implied when you tried to pass it off as humour.
As for the planeset.... well, now you come to mention it, the sim I came from (Air Warrior) didn't have those planes either - dammit, you must be right then! If they didn't exist in another sim, then they can't possibly have existed in WWII! :rolleyes: Whatever was I thinking off???
