Title: AH Distances

Can someone riddle me this - I've been wondering why ...


If I am above a base at say 13-15K and a plane ups on the runway, why does their distance show at 4 or 5K. (am talking about a 0k base too not a 8K base)


It seems like 10K disappears into a black hole - probably a simple explanation but I can't thunk of it

Because you are at 15,000 feet and he is 5,000 yards away.

The icons read in yards.

doh !

knew it was something simple

got so used to dealing in metres/mm/cm - forgot about yard/feet.
