Just made a joke like saying a jewish dog can't eat pig meat.

Channel 1 really isnt the place for comments like that now is it?
How do you know it wasnt HT? I talked to him over the weekend and he mentioned something about being in the arena a little more to keep an eye on things. Apparently, word has made it back to HTC that the arena has been a little less than hospitable at times lately.

Maybe for u americans. But for me (Dutch) we live between moslims jews blacks and all other races with relative makin it a less problem like u do.

I find the implication that the Netherlands is some kind of racial melting pot where all is well to be quite hillarious.

i've had a profanity warning for saying "i'm not the best shot in the world" when gunning for someone's buff. Maybe i had a typo and it spelt something else. I found it ammusing all the same anyway.:)

Regardless of where you live....political and/or racial remarks do not belong on channel 1. Period. If you want to debate political or racial crap, bring it in here and do it in the O-club, but keep it off of channel 1.

Um......Bug old matey......no offense intended but I've lived in Holland for almost 4 years now and I've never seen such blatant racism in any other country in the world.
There was even an article in a Den Haag newspaper calling all British contractors (ie, me) scum, the bane of Dutch society and blaming us for the huge increases in housing rents (how the hell ya work that one out when it's the DUTCH landlords increasing the rent, I dont know).
Not that I think ya shoulda been muted, but your comment about the Dutch living with all different races is bollocks, ya ship em all off to sell crack in the red light area and never the twain shall meet.

Negative Animal...the only place where I can mute someone is in the SEA.
I dont have those powers, but the fact that I talked to HT this weekend and something was mentioned about him patrolling the arenas a little more makes me believe that maybe BUG just spouted off at the wrong time.

Those with the power to mute folks in the MA need some hard set guidelines and deffinately need to be audited more on the use of thier powers. There's one of these "monitors" that likes to mute me for no apparent reason at all. I was once muted after splainin something to a noob in answer to the noob's question. More often than not these people just mute you because you offended thier personal ideals of right/wrong and do it w/o a warning. Awfully hard to know if yer at the line w/o a warning.
One thing's for sure, these folks would be alot more attentitive to how they use thier abilities if they weren't anonymous.
If it's secret and elite, it can't be good

I readily admit that I have earned more "time outs" than I have actually recieved.
My chief complaint with the monitors is the lack of warnings and the muting for no apparent reason, other than the person doesn't like you.
And that you can't give a 6call while muted, I assume because it automatically sends a private text message. That's a total pain.
Though I can't recall ever using "You squealing prettythanghole!!" when I'm shot down (TWO individuals excluded, and you AREN'T one of them DJ). It's more along the lines of "WTF" or "That was total roadkill"

I remember something not too far off from every engagement I've ever had with you.
Really... you should not be complaining about being muted. You should be thankfull to even have an account at all.
And Bug... that's a stretch for a joke. Especially for one that isn't funny. And once you call it a "Jewish dog".... you've attatched a race lable. Some might think its funny... many others might not. HTC isn't really concerned with the few that might think it was funny.

No matter how we europeans hate it or feel weird about it, America doesn't really have a freedom of speech or expression. It's one of the most censored countries in the world nowadays.
The moralist influence on media is very strong so bad words, gestures and nipples get filtered away from the media (even though everyone knows well what words come under the beeping or which fingers the people are showing under the censor ball..)
One really funny example was in the tv-series strong medicine which I saw yesterday. In the episode two street kids made a graffiti on the hospital wall. It portrayed a naked woman after birth holding her baby in the air.. She was totally naked on the bed - and she had no nipples, just breast shaped bumps.
That lead me to wonder once again what is offensive in a womans nipple.
I'm pretty sure many pre-teenagers get scared when they undress their girlfriends for the first time.. EEEEK! What are those? Tumors? LOL.
Anyways, this is the attitude in power in the states today and we have to live with it as we subscribe to the game.

MrRipley, you said it yourself- this is a game.
I'm sure you excercise caution when speaking around youngsters and their parents.
Is it really that hard to do it here? Not everyone playing this game is an adult- and it's not limited to adults- so pretend for a second this is the real world... would you really say what you're about to say?
Chances are if it involves racial slang or an insult, your friends and people you know in reality will find it funny (especially when it's in your native tongue, if Americans can't understand it- they don't want to understand it) while people playing this game may not.
Yes- America has become anal retentive in terms of censorship (and censorship laws- sweet jebus that's just pathetic), but in the case of an online game- it isn't just America that would excercise censorship of the radio.
I'll leave you with one thought to ponder- on Hyperlobby, and Kali(when it existed) and several other games I *NEVER* see anyone cursing, talking smack, using racial vulgarities or anything of that nature... so why is it so prominent in Aces High that we actually need a monitor?
Not that I agree with these anonymous monitors... it's like having a deaf, dumb and blind man leading the pack.

You do have a point there Ak. OTOH I consider personal contact in a face-to-face situation a bit different than playing a game and typing.
Filtering in the end is a good thing even though it really pisses me off too if I type something that's not allowed in the heat of the moment.
Typing is like a fourth language for me because I've been active on IRC for years, I type with all 11 fingers :P and I don't really see the difference for me to communicate via speech or words. That's why I also can type stuff straight out of my mind without having to concentrate on it specially. I might say something like 'oh toejam a spit saw me kill him' if I'm gooning very spontaniously, and that brings up the warning boxes.
It's a question of choices. Bad words won't harm anyone unless they're used in a harassive matter but they are not intellectual way of communicating either.
Long story short: I think the cuss filter is a good idea, I just hate when it's being applied to me :P

Bug... that wasn't directed at you... it was for cavey. And I know I'm not the only one that has said that in regards to him and his antics on the radio buffer.
As for you bug.... you're refusal to accept that you said anything wrong is exactly why a warning before being muted would not have worked. All that would have ensued was 20 minutes of you typing on ch 1 about how you didn't say anything wrong.
