Actually Boroda, what I'm saying is this:
The evil Nazis invaded the evil Russians. This was good for the less evil English, and the relatively good Americans. In the end, the evil Russians defeated the evil Nazis with the help from the not so evil English and the relatively good Americans. The evil Russians then enslaved most of Eastern europe.
That is my honest opinion. If you disagree, well too bad, suck it up. Nazi Germany and Communist Russia were just as evil, they were just evil in different ways. They both murdered innocent civilians, and if you want to compare bodycount, the Communists "won". They had different victims though, and different ways of butchering their victims. The nazis murdered innocent civlilians, mostly jews, and mostly people from other countries than their own. The communists also murdered innocent civilians, but mostly their own citizens. Both sides committed horrible atrocities against eachother and against eachothers civilians during the war.

I saw that post Hortlund, made sense to me. I think it's just because you pointed out something about Mutha Russia that Boroda doesn't like and has no defense against so he's offended to the point of trying to get you banned...
but whatever, this current thread shouldn't even be in this forum.

I disagree with almost every position Hortland offers up on international affairs and WW2/Europen history. I disagree with the underlying message he was promoting with the thread (though the facts are failry clearly established behind his post - like it or not) -- but your snippet of a 5-page thread WAS out of context. I do, however, find your personal statements to be threatenting and hope action is taken. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen:

'not so evil English'? I thought they were the good guys. Maybe my understanding of history ain't so good. They could have bowed out of the war after France folded, but they chose to stay in it when things looked bleakest. Get real.

Funny thing about this thread is the simple FACT that Stalin killed more Russians than the Nazis. The Nazi's shouldn't have attacked Poland breaking the Alliance with Germany. They lost the war on the first day. The USSR was too big an obstacle to overtake in the first place. Furthermore with Bletchley Park single handedly stalled Operation Barbarossa for four months.
You seem to deliberately go out of your way to hurt people hortlund. To each their own. The next time you use the word Evil, Hortlund, remember what countries in Europe stood by and did nothing, your's was one of them.

The crimes of the German army and SS are proved in Nuremberg the tribunal and are condemned by world community. At Hortlund there are no proofs of his statements, that Russian made crimes in the same sizes, as nazis, and also (sic!), that it there was a policy of the state, instead of individual initiative of the separate people. Therefore its words are the insult and slander.

Yah, sure...see, 30's stalin purgues, you've got a place to start looking for crimes commited by the soviet union-
Do you recall what does the word "gulag" means?
Do you recall what was Katyn?
Do you recall how were the multiple etnic groups of Eastern Europe handled by the Soviet Union since they were reconquered?
Nuremberg was a trial wich fairly sent many nazi criminals to their deaths, or to prison, and which set many good precedents on what was NOT going to be allowed...
But it was also a joke which left many criminals free. Most exactly, all those who played on the allied side during WWII (starting from Harris or LeMay, and finishing with STALIN himself).
There were loads of SS officers sent to death after nuremberg (rightly so)...how many NKVD officers met the same fate ?

Not hard to find proof of the crimes and war crimes commited by the Russians before, during and after WW2. All people with their own thoughts, not to mention Spanish Civil war Russian pilots who brought back new tactics and experience were killed.
Don't close your eyes for one because another one did the same. Both were as bad.

Masherbrum, it's not evil to be neutral, and do you know who were some of teh first people to aid teh war torn countries after the War? Do you know how many people Sweden gave homes after they had escaped, this including jues and other people of all kind.
Sweden were some of the first aid crews on place in concentration camps.

Speaking of purges, this moderator is about to partake in one. In case nobody noticed, this board is about ACES HIGH. It is here to promote interest, gather feedback, and build community for this game. If someone is detracting from those goals, they are not welcome here. We've been very lenient with this board because 1) we don't want to be draconian and 2)we're generally busy developing this game. Because of this leniency, this board has attracted people who come here for the sole purpose of stirring the pot. Well I have had it with that. Not only does it detract from the business we're running, it eats up our time that should be spent actually improving the game. You know, the thing that this board is about.
I've been warning about this and I'm done with that. I'm not going to waste any more time with people seeing how far they can push. There's a saying, "If you can't be fair, be arbitrary." I can live with that. Not only can the board go on without certain people present, it would be much better. I think everybody knows that except for the people who should know it.
