What's that little bulge on the top of the F4U-1 canopy? You can sometimes barely make it out when swooshing from the tower and doing the gymnastic move that puts you in the cockpit. Once in the cockpit, it looks like two gray lines forming a sort of triangle.

That's where the rear-view mirror goes. Also, in setup you can reduce the animation time to 0 and skip the tower to cockpit gymnastic entirely.

I just read hint of that somewhere else. I'll look into trying that, thanks!

Steven, you may be referring to the small glass dome at the top of the sliding canopy. I think the dome was there to allow headroom for the pilot to crank up the seat during deck landings.

oooo nice pic

Yeah, that's the bulge/bubble on the top of the pic. I can see what it is better on that model. Interesting. I wonder if I can stick my head in under that in the AH model to get a better rear view.

Whats the story on that pic?

I got the pic from a site called Hyper Scale (http://www.hyperscale.com, then click on the Model Gallery link). The contributors do some fantastic work (wish I still had the patience).
Don't know if that pic is still there, but there's still a lot to see.
